    Extra fees for dingy room
We booked our stay through hotels.com and even had to make a change due to transferring the reservation to my husbands name. Hotels.com Customer Service was really great and helpful, no issues there. Checking into the hotel though, we had to pay an extra amount for resort fees. We explained to the hotel clerk that we paid through hotels.com and she told us it wasn’t valid and that we should book directly through Excalibur next time. We paid the fees and went to our room. Room was dingy, even though it was a “renovated” room. The door was missing a latch, there was a small cockroach running around the bathroom counter. For the price we ended up paying we could have stayed at a better hotel. We choose Excalibur because we have young kiddos that enjoy all the activities they have there. Next time we will definitely stay somewhere else.

Basically ok, but unlikely to try them again
They said room with a view.. and gave me 2nd floor with view to the air-condition fans. They did not have very basic amenities like refrigerator or even coffee machine (which is essential for me as i work a lot from my room). Mattress was too soft. Besides that room was large, good working space. Regarding cleanliness, there was a faint odor of cigarette smoke in the room.

    A TERRIBLE CASTLE
My stay here was TERRIBLE. So we purchased the Royal tower because we wanted to have a bit of a nicer room. As soon as we walked in I noticed the A/C was making a siren noise. I was not able to nap so I called to complain. The tech guy that came up was an older gentleman that could not hear the sound. I asked he replace it despite this. The changing of a/c's was disgusting. I felt the whole room was now dusty. There was no sound. We left room for a night out already annoyed. When we returned the NEW A/C was making a loud noise that sounded like an orchestra of crickets. I asked they send up a new guy and they agreed to. A younger man came up and so did the first older man. The younger man immediately heard it. The older man still did not. I asked it be changed. The older man did so and did so aggressively. Again...DUST. Once they left my best friend was uncomfortable. I was going to leave it at that but then when I went to change the temp at the a/c the floor was all wet. My socks were soaked. I called to complain stating this is enough. DO you know what they did? They sent up a worker to put TOWELS all over the floor by the a/c. I called again and said now I am insulted. They finally stated they will change my room. My room was changed but this entire ordeal was disgusting and poorly handled by the hotel workers. The manager tried to resolve the situation but at this point it was too late. Never again.
