What a find!
great value for the money. Lobby and rooms are chic and comfortable. Service is excellent (air conditioning turned out not to work in our first room so management graciously moved us to another room when we returned late in the evening). Excellent free appetizer spread with a complementary glass of wine at aperitvo hour. Wonderful breakfast. And best of all, Art Hotel's location right off the main canal of the Navigli district, with its not to be missed nighttime scene!

So good we went back
I highly recommend staying here. My friend and I stayed for two nights and came back when we returned to Milan for another two nights. It's well-located in very busy Navigli. You kind of have to push through crowds on the main street on weekends, but the actual hotel is a bit away from this. Noise was not an issue at all. It's just the right amount of away from the main route along the canal. There are several good restaurants and many bars within a few minutes. There are also a number of mediocre places for tourists, but a little research - and listening for Italian - solves this. Also, one of - if not the - best cocktail bars in Milan is across the street. There's also a grocery store. And the hotel has free apertivo snacks (whether you buy a drink or not) in the evening, along with one free drink at check in. The room was nice and very modern. Two of us had enough room for all of our stuff and to move around easily. The modern art everywhere in the hotel is also really nice, adds a very stylish Milan touch. The internet situation is ridiculous. The wifi is included, but you have to constantly reconnect and get new codes from the front desk. I don't understand why it's set up like this, but once connected it's quite fast.

Excellent Area for Evening Food/Drink
The location of this hotel was excellent if you're looking for evening food/drink options within a short walk of the hotel. When I travel internationally, I don't want to be holed up in my room all night, but I also don't want to go through great effort to find a relaxing place that is also English-friendly. The Navigli location of this hotel is great - dozens of small bars and cafes along the canal right outside the hotel door. One negative was room size - my coworker and I were given the smallest hotel rooms I've ever seen. I couldn't help but wonder if we were being penalized for booking through hotels.com. Also, there are only three irons and ironing boards for the entire hotel. On the positive side, this hotel is clean, and the staff did their best to be helpful and accommodating.

Overall a great stay. The room was a good size which is often uncommon in European hotels. There was an electrical noise with the air that was annoying. However, the fact that they had A/C and a comfy bed made up for it.

Great for shopping at the Navigli Antique Market
We stayed with a large group, with ages ranging from 11 to 79 at the Art Hotel Navigli for just one night, in four rooms. We were planning to shop at the nearby antiques market along the canal(which was great, btw) so chose this hotel for convenience. The market is literally right outside the door so if you want to shop at that market, you cannot find a better location. The hotel has a lot of character; it is not your typical chain hotel. The lobby has a throw-back to the 60's feel, but it is not run-down. The rooms were a bit more run-down than the public areas, and when we first checked in, one of our rooms had a big flood in it, and we had to be moved to a different room. But the staff took care of it right away, and it was not a big deal. The hotel is filled with interesting art. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice, and there was a spread in the lobby, all day, as far as I can tell, with tea and iced tea and water and cookies, which was welcome. There is a very active nightlife in the neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants and huge crowds of young people, but it was not noisy in the hotel.
