Pod 51, New York
Nice hotel in a nice area for the price
Great hotel in East Mid-town. We stayed here five nights in April on the top (14th) floor. The area is wonderful. It felt safe and has lots of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Views from the top of the surrounding buildings large and small was great. One and a half blocks away are subway lines that go up and down town and the E line that goes to the air train to JFK. We were in a queen size room with a private bath. The room was tight between the desk and foot of the bed. Only about 1.5 feet. The bathroom and shower are bigger than our travel trailer's but not by much. The whole room was clean and felt new. I liked that the bathroom had shampoo and other dispensers rather than little plastic bottles. I wish all hotels would do this. The staff was friendly and helpful. Other comments: I wish they had an ice machine. No free coffee in the morning. There was a $15 service fee/night... for what?? The cafe is just okay. It seemed expensive. Instead use the small but great cafe in the small park across the street that is inexpensive, has a surprisingly large menu selection and is beautiful place to hang out in good weather. There are many interesting and fun restaurants near by. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Cold, Cold Night
I cannot give this hotel a good reveiw, because the room was freezing cold, with no heat, and a thermostat customer can't operate! I woke up 3:30 in the morning from the cold, and it was uncomfortable getting dressed after my shower in the morning. When I told the front desk next morning lady was asking me why I didn't call them, but I was in my nightgown, and had to get up early for work! Last thing I wanted was maintenance in my room at 3:30 am!

East side....😎
I usually stay in 39th Street if I’m flying out. But I stayed @ 51st Street for convenience. It’s been quite some time since I’ve been @ Pod 51...not much has changed. Done if the fixtures need adjustments or replacement and the TV is forever in a difficult spot to view easily (can’t and won’t swivel). Otherwise I’m always pleased the with Pods, the rooms and service standard and good ..need washcloths. Thanks

Shower/Bathroom very tiny, but still decent. Bed mattress so uncomfortable. If it was not for the sleep aids, I likely would had not slept.

They were doing construction on the lobby area, so it was pretty crowded in that area most of the time. I would recommend that the concierge be a little more informative and present without having to ask a lot of questions. They was they were sitting in the lobby, I thought they were another guest.
