Nicely Renovated
When my friend and I were at this Howard Johnson, they were in the middle of a remodeling project. I think the section we were in had recently been remodeled because the room looked new, especially the bathroom. Very nice! The room was clean and comfortable. The only issue we had with the room was that the refrigerator made a little noise, so we unplugged it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The free continental breakfast, however, left much to be desired. Limited and bland. You’d be much better off going down the street to the Pine Country Restaurant, where the food was delicious. Overall, our stay at the Howard Johnson was very good and we’d have no hesitations about recommending it to others. Just skip breakfast.

Low price, clean and decent place. Room doors shake the walks in nearby rooms when they slam though. We had an in and out group a couple doors down that went on until almost midnight. Luckily we were awake anyway. They weren’t noisy just had no clue on how to softly close a room door after 10 PM. Only other thing for seniors or people with heavy luggage, they have no elevator. Overall, for the price, the place is a good stay if you’re not needing a lot of amenities.

Cannot recommend
The only nice thing I can say about this place was that the man at the front counter was very pleasant and check-in was easy. Otherwise, it was a yucky old hotel. To be fair,it was quite clean but it was definitely run-down. Lobby smelled vaguely like smoke, as did room. Walls were gross burnt-orange color, with popcorn ceilings. Duct tape on faucet. We were so icked out by the room that we slept in our clothes. We stayed here because it was the only hotel in our price range that was available that night and we were exhausted (cross-country roadtrip). Breakfast looked mediocre, so we skipped it (pretty much just waffles and cereal).
