Holiday Inn Resort Phuket, Patong

Located on Patong beach and very close to hustle/bustle of commercial area. It is convenient from accessibility perspective but if you want peace and prefer being in quiet town then this is not the best option. We found other beaches in Phuket more relaxing and calm than Patong. The hotel itself is not bad but could use some thorough cleaning. Pool had so many droppings from plants that we were never comfortable swimming. Back gate of hotel which opens to the beach needs more security and vigilance. There is a security guard at the entrance but anyone can walk in and start using hotel facilities especially pool. There is no checking done on whether its a guest or passerby.

Holiday Inn Phuket Resort is absolutely a great hotel to stay in Patong area. It has direct access to the lovely beach by just passing across a street (a security guard is always on duty at the beach gate to assist in crossing the road). It is very short walking distance to Bangla street, which is the main night life spot in Phuket. Hotel is almost spotlessly clean. Breakfast is typically included in the price. We took our breakfasts always at Charm Thai restaurant which was absolutely great, lots of variety from many different world kitchens. Quality of the fruits were fantastic (with watermelon and mangos being our favourites). Dinners at Sea Breeze buffet wasn't up to same standards unfortunately. Hotel check-in took a bit time but overall it was a good experience. My only disappointment was that we were offered an upgrade to studio from superior room we originally booked for 1000 Bahts a night, which we took. But I found out, in the superior room we originally booked, we had 2 double beds (140 cm), but in the studio beds were 120 cm, which was a bit of a disappointment. But overall, room was very comfortable and spacious. There are 6 different pools in 3 different locations in the resort. Especially the pool by the kids club was favourite of our kids (9 and 4). Kids club is really high quality, staff was very friendly and caring. Kids loved especially the pirate event when everybody was dressed up. Overall great hotel with great facilities. We will be back.

Wonderful hotel with nice helpful staff. Convenience location and good food in their beach side restaurant. However the live singer was not so entertain the customer and have her own world...you seldom see her back to the stage and just move around the bar section or entrance which has no customers there..

We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday inn resort. It’s location is great in the middle of all the action in Patong. Lots of access to taxis and transportation. We stayed in the Buskorm wing and it was the best decision. It is quieter has its own private pool with lots of shade. We were upgraded to the villas with the adult only private pool. Beautiful and spacious. The hotel staff is so friendly and attentive. The tour office helped arrange all our excursions and everything went smoothly. I’d like to warn about the airport taxi scam. We had 5 ppl and went directly to the taxi booth as you exit the baggage claim area. I knew we needed a van so I booked a minibus for $900 baht. I thought that was pretty cheap. Well you get what you pay for. It was a shared mini bus that took everyone to holiday travels tours before asking us where our hotel was. We were so tired from a 30 hour flight. They make us get out to let them know where we are staying and they try to sell you tours and return transportation. We were all pretty upset. Obviously no one on the bus bought anything so we were all lead back to the minibus and dropped off on the roads in front of our hotels. He literally drove past the hotel entrance and made us walk 500 feet down a dark street at night with a kid that fell asleep and all our luggage in tow. Not a good welcome to Phuket. Besides that mistake we had a great time. We arranged a return trip to the airport in a private minibus with the hotel for $1300

We stayed for 2 nights in a studio room at this hotel. The room was clean, spacious and tastefully designed. My kids were initially disappointed that there was no bathtub for them to soak and splash in, but they soon forgot about it after getting to the kids pools. Breakfast was great, so was our dinner at Terrazzo. Ordered fried rice with chicken for in-room dining upon check in, but found the meat rather dry and tough to chew. As there were 2 lobbies, it was somewhat confusing for us which lobby to wait for the pickup for our Phang Nga Bay tour, which we had booked online (the staff had told us to wait at the Busakorn wing lobby since our room was in that wing but the driver ended up at the main lobby instead, and I only found out after waiting for quite some time at the Busakorn lobby and decided to check the main lobby (some 200m away) just in case. The driver later told me he had been waiting at the main lobby and no one directed them to the Busakorn lobby. Check-out was smooth, and our airport transfer (booked from phuketshuttle.com) got directed to the right lobby this time. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.
