Luxury stay without the heavy price tag
Check in was a breeze! Without even asking, we were upgraded to one of their Spa rooms that had aroma therapy, nature sounds, and a king size bed. Everything we could have asked for her on our wedding anniversary!

Good Business Hotel
We have stayed here several times before, so are familiar with this hotel. It is very clean, more of a business-oriented hotel. The decor is modern, a bit "cold" for my liking. The room was fine but could use an armchair or two rather than just a bed or office type chair to sit in. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a bit odd. The vanity / sink and toilet were very low but the room did not seem to be an "accessible" room as there was a regular bathtub. The room was very, very clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The shuttle service offered is great - will drop off and pick up in the local area. Parking is $25/ night. Breakfast buffet was $40 for two people and was Ok. We requested a King room and were given two Queens. We were told they were booked and that was all they had available.

OK visit at Marriott Walnut Creek
The hotel has some unusual architecture, which may have been cool when it was built but now seems dated and can be problematic. We were initially given a "bad room", I believe 518. Rooms were small, with a tiny window (think of a cruise ship) facing the hotel's interior and looking partially at a wall. Not what you expect for $200 a night. We were given another room which was better. Still rather small, and ceilings are low just about everywhere but the lobby/restaurant/bar area. New furnishings are pretty stark and minimalistic, again not what you necessarily expect from a Marriott. We went to listen to the guitarist and have a drink Saturday night. The volume was too loud for the room. I'm a musician, and like music on the loud side, but this was more concert volume than lounge volume where people may want to converse or watch sports at the bar. It's one big open area, so not like you can separate the two. Also the AC was blowing so hard that people were changing tables trying to get away from it. Valet parking is $25 with in/out. Never had to wait long to retreive our car. Ordered breakfast with front desk pickup. The breakfast sandwiches were very good. Oatmeal, muffins just OK. Will likely try the Renaissance or Embassy Suites next time.

Nice hotel for business or fun
The hotel staff is very nice and welcoming . The room was clean and comfy and quiet. I liked the breakfast buffet with omelette chef . And the bar in the evening . Would like to see some bottles water in the room even if it was for sale.
