Meh
I’ve stayed here a number of times when it was the Mystic Hotel and loved it. Three of the six floors are currently under construction. This was not disruptive in terms of noise. They are under new management and have a lot of kinks they need to work out. Each room has a Nespresso machine. Great feature, but the cups were too big to fit under the coffee spout and they didn’t have any creamer. Not even the powdered stuff! The low flow faucets meant very water pressure and it took about 10 minutes to get the water hot. Front desk staff upon check in didn’t tell us about the breakfast pastries and we requested a quiet room and the trash truck woke us up at 5am. The decor used to be bright and funky. They’ve changed it to a mid century theme with beiges and blacks. In the old San Francisco building, it looks drab and depressing. And things in the room weren’t well thought out- like the hook in the bathroom is too thick to hang toiletry kit and no counter space, and we hit our head on the corner of the tv twice, no ear plugs in the room. Little things, but overall it made the stay a disappointment. Some of the positives- Beds were comfy, very clean room, lots of great options (healthy too) snacks in room, great location, etc. They are definitely trying to make it a nice experience! Sadly, I won’t be staying there again. Between the lack of service, the noise, and the overall feeling of the hotel, I’d rather stay someplace else on my next visit.

Poor 2.0
Total Ripoff. Don't stay here! Will never return
First, the staff at the reception desk were friendly and trying their best. Overall they were great. My problem is with corporate, and with Hotels.com. I booked this room for Charlie Palmer's Mystic Hotel, having stayed here before. The Mystic's breakfast, which was included with the room, was one of the finest I've ever had. After I booked the room, the Mystic was sold to Palihotel, but nobody told me. I found out because about a week before my trip, I get an email from Palihotel saying they look forward to my visit. But wait! who is this? I'm booked at the Mystic! After a bit of internet research, I learn about the sale. Well, okay--the room is prepaid, so let's go. Well what a mistake! First, no breakfast, unless you consider coffee and some apples as breakfast. Second, floors 2-5 are under renovation! People move out of their houses when they're being renovated, why would I want pay top dollar to stay at a hotel that's being renovated, that advertised breakfast and just gives you some apples? On top of that, housekeeping did less than the bare minimum. Palihotel is a total ripoff. And Hotels.com should have notified us about the change from the Mystic too Palihotel.

Exceptional 10.0
Great Hotel. In the heart of the city.
Staff and room was great. Old San Francisco Hotel with alot of charm. Currently being remodeling on some of the floors but that did not interfere with the quality of the room of the floor I was on. I would highly recommend. Right in Union Square for a decent price. Can walk to the Hyatt and Westin etc..

Exceptional 10.0
Great location, clean and comfortable rooms
Nice, clean and recently renovated rooms. Very convenient location, close to many tourist attractions and downtown business offices. I stayed on the 8th floor and barely noticed any construction work noise, so I wouldn't worry too much about the ongoing renovation.

Very Good 8.0
Great service. Good location. Walls are too thin. Can hear people walking outside and people next door. Even with a/c unit off it was a very cold room. Cold wind leaks through door and window. Maid didn’t have towel or robes on our last day.
