Fantastic Gem: Grounds, Rooms, Service & Location
This is an absolutely stunning property. From the outside, you can't see much, but the lobby is beautiful and vaulted with amazing stone and brickwork, and the rooms are set around a huge interior courtyard with grass, a pool, and a koi pond. Service was impeccable, from the initial greeting at the door on. The room was elegant and very large. My only nit is that I would prefer not to have two steps from the sunken bedroom to the bathroom in the middle of the night... The bar and restaurant were very nice, and there are quite a few other good restaurants (some aimed at visitors, others local and casual) a quick and easy walk away. This place is fantastic--I wish my usual hotels in the States were a third this nice.

    Best hotel in San Luis
Would stay here again and again. Perfect neighborhood. Coolest building. Friendliest staff. Room was wonderful. ONLY two complaints: 1) All 3 of the bartenders in the hotel bar were not familiar with their own menu and couldn’t make ANY of the drinks on their cocktail menu. We ended up just getting beers haha. 2) Small snafu with check in.... the first TWO rooms they gave us were occupied which was both frustrating for us AND the folks in those rooms.... but staff handled it very professionally and ended up upgrading us to a junior suite which obviously was a nice bonus. New favorite hotel in San Luis!

    Not worth the money
Love the hotel structure, but the carpet was was dirty and worn out in our room. The toilet had a water leak. Very expensive, paid $308 for one night. Not really worth the money.

    Rude reception, otherwise just ok.
This hotel, formerly a Westin, is classically designed, in a good neighborhood. Our first impression however was one of disappointment because of the inattentive and rude treatment we received from the receptionist that evening. We arrived and as soon as she asked for my name, (no "welcome" or "good evening"), she got on her phone and proceeded to carry on a conversation while she was attending to us. In the middle of her conversation, she ordered me to hand over my credit card. She kept typing and talking on the phone. She then practically threw the key cards at us and continued with her conversation. We asked where the elevators were and she pointed in the general direction of the elevators. She did not offer assistance with our bags. When we got out of the elevator, we ended up walking the entire perimeter of the hotel and come to realize there was another elevator right next to our room. It would have been nice if we were told this by the receptionist. We get to our room and our room keys were not active. We returned to the reception and she was still on the phone. She looked up and asked what we wanted now. We told her our room keys didn't work. I mentioned that we didn't appreciate her attitude and that the least she could do was apologize for her bahavior. She refused to apologize. We asked for the manager at this point. We appreciated Antonio's efforts to make up for his colleague's behavior, but our first impression is indelible. Did not meet Hilton standards.
