old building, no pool, no restaraunt,

The service was good but the mini bar was not checking properly thats why the charge or bill ilwas nit tallied and upon arrival there should be free bottled drinking water the staff are hospitable and friendly ...

We were horrified to find we’d been given a smoking room, it absolutely stank of cigarettes. The room itself was in need of a refurb particularly the bathroom. Everything functioned ok but just looked old and tired. We complained to reception about the smell. There were no other rooms available. They sent housekeeping round to spray the room with an air freshener, but this did very little. Even the corridors and lift stank of cigarettes. Disgusting place. Will never stay there again.

All was generally fine except the hotel and the rooms were not at all as on the website, the building and the rooms were much older and shabbier. I was on the 6th floor, but I only got a view quite directly into the car park of another high building right next door... Certainly not at all worth as much as I had paid... Hmm. Also the swimming pool is very dismal, very small and very confined, absolutely quite useless in any way for proper swimming, only fit as a noisy children's play area.... No sunlight can get into the swimming pool area, no good at all if you want to relax there and sunbathe... Also you have to walk through the hotel ground floor reception area right by the dining room in your swimming attire to get to it... Very off putting for actually using the pool and very off putting for those going for a meal to have to mix swimmers and diners together. Also all the sudden stupid loud noise from the pool with screaming children is very annoying close to the dining room... But the hotel staff and the location were fine, and the breakfast especially was excellent... Very good quality food and enormous amounts of it were available as a self service buffet. I suppose I would return if I didn't have the absolutely awful view directly into a concrete car park next door, and I had some kind of other city view which I had expected to get with this 12 storey hotel building...

Good location, really friendly and professional staff, hotel was older and worn out but comfortable, definitely value for money though.
