An enjoyable two-week stay
This is a superb hotel in a fine area for visitors to the Old Town. We stayed 14 nights in the Steiner Suite and were delighted. Breakfasts especially staff were a delight as were front desk and room service staff. We ate in for dinner on two nights and do not recommend this; the menu looked OK but staff and long waiting time were unacceptable. On our last day we were mugged by thieves at the front door, with a hotel doorman less than a metre away. My wallet was returned within a minute -- my wife kicked up a fuss and nearby pedestrians were alerted. Nothing was stolen, with thief returning the wallet claiming he 'found' the wallet nearby. Overall, this was an outstanding stay. Strongly recommended.

Centrally Placed for Everything
We have visited Prague many times and generally stayed at the same place over the years but this year we fancied a change and chose the Grand Bohemian Hotel because of the location and that it sounded like Grand Budapest Hotel (q.v.)... The Grand Bohemian Hotel is situated a stones throw from the Powder Tower and the main drag in town, Na Prikope. We had asked for two single beds, not being sure what the size of a double bed would be (double sometimes means king sometimes doesn't in Europe). Having two singles allows us comfier types enough space. As it turned out the two singles pushed together to give a nice King sized bed for the two of us. The room we had was part of a possible suite in that the two adjacent rooms could be turned into two bedrooms for a family which gave us a magnificent amount of cupboards - more than we have had in a long time. The bedroom was medium sized and had a comfy chair and a desk chair. The windows were of the usual Czech style which I think are great double glazing (and you can put stuff between the windows ro keep it cool in winter when the fridge is full). The only comment I can say about the room was that the toilet was in a small alcove in the bathroom. I could see the logic but it was a little disconcerting. The room looked out into the middle of the hotel and across at apartments and air conditioning but who is bothered in winter ? It just made a quiet room (good). The air conditioning was excellent.

Absolutely Wonderful Place!
We just finished our 4-night stay at Grand Hotel Bohemia and checked out. There is really nothing negative to report. I mean zero. I can't recall one thing that we did not like while staying there. Great location in the heart of the Old Town. Beautiful building, inside and out. We booked a terrace room on the 7th floor. It was a bit more expensive than a regular room, but totally worth it. The terrace is huge, with rattan patio furniture, awning and a swing. You can see the whole Prague from it (see the photo). The room is very comfortable and spacious with everything a couple might need while traveling (even the little things like umbrella, clothes brush, shoe polish etc.). Very clean. Bed mattress was comfortable. Good quality bedding. Goose dawn pillows were a bit too soft for my liking, but not a big deal. Plenty of power outlets. TV has lots of channels in many European languages. Internet was free and fast. Our room rate included free breakfast, which was super good and include both buffet-style and a la carte (not either/or). Egg-benedict was delicious. great selection of cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, yogurts etc. Pastry was fresh and tasty. We ordered lunch from room service, once. Again, very timely and well-done. Friendly and helpful staff, both front desk and housekeeping. Check-in and check-out - quick and pleasant. We would like to thank the staff and commend them for such a well-run hotel and for making our stay so memorable and pleasant.

Superb hotel
Firstly the hotel is well sited, moments from Republic Square and a few minutes from Old Town Square. The metro is just seconds away and whilst the trams are a few seconds further on there were major works in the square halting the local service so can't comment on the service from here. The hotel is in a quiet area but there are many restaurants, shops and bars within a few minutes walk. The staff are superb, nothing was too much trouble plus they were very helpful. We had an Executive room which was spacious and kept very clean and tidy by the cleaning staff. Only criticism is that they don't supply milk to go with the in room tea and coffee. I know that's petty but that is the only negative that I could think of. The breakfast is good with a lot of buffet options together with an a la carte option. All the breakfast options are included in the breakfast price. We opted to use the hotel's airport taxi service. It may well be a bit cheaper to arrange the transfer yourself but the drivers were good and punctual plus the cars were clean and comfortable. Overall the hotel contributed massively to making our stay in this beautiful city extremely enjoyable. We would choose this hotel again without hesitation if we visit Prague again.

Absolutely Fabulous!
This was a fabulous hotel to stay in in Prague! It was only a 5 minute walk to the Old Town Square so the location was terrific! The rooms were clean and extremely well appointed, with bath robes and slippers in addition to normal amenities! The bed was the most comfortable hotel mattress we have ever slept on! They even had a fresh flower in the bathroom each day. The staff were friendly and very helpful in answering any questions we had. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet which included champagne and an assortment of delicious breakfast/lunch offerings. They even had riddles to solve to challenge your brain, and we had a blast solving them with the hostess named Ludmila! This hotel definitely added to the wonderful memories we brought back from our visit to Prague, and we would highly recommend anyone to stay at the Grand Hotel Bohemia!
