Almost perfect, less than excellent concierge.
An extended weekend of fun and exploration of interesting places including Toronto Islands, several markets (loved St Lawrence Market), AGO, business/financial district people watching, Botanical (Edward) Gardens, Allen Conservatory, plus walking through Chinatown, Latino/a restaurants near Chinatown, the Harborfront area. We loved the diverse cultures, user friendly ttc/subway, buses, trains, and Union Station. If we want to repeat any of these the hotel is perfectly located . Their breakfast buffet was well presented and diverse enough to satisfy most culinary tastes.they also had a nice pool, Workout area, and spa (I thought the spa prices were too much, but that experience is not In my bailiwick. Our only down side was the less than helpful concierge, when asked for advice regarding show tickets we would like to sell , she said go to the box office. Previously at other hotels the concierge made a special effort to let other hotels know of the availability ,as well as their guests - disappointing if this has become the new norm, especially for a visitor from another country

Great hotel, but avoid the bar!
The hotel is perfectly situated for the sporting event and theatre tickets we had - this was my second time staying at this hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. The check-in staff were friendly and efficient. In the evening we stopped by the hotel bar before heading to our room for bed. Azure has high accolades, but we were disappointed by the service - the bartender, Thomas, discouraged us when we arrived by saying it was last call and we were lucky to be able to still order one drink (it was 11:30 and the bar was supposed to be open until 12). The next 2 groups of people to arrive were told the same story. I ordered a Cesar which came with no garnishes (despite garnishes being put on the same drink earlier that afternoon when we were at the bar before heading to the theatre). Then one of the patrons who sat down beside us at the bar after we arrived, questioned Thomas for his obvious interest in getting out of there in a hurry and for not seeming polite or friendly and that's when it got ugly and uncomfortable. Thomas argued with them and called them rude! Even though I was nervous after the way the other patron was treated to mention the garnish, I did and he fixed the problem (apologizing for his lack of effort by claiming it was late and he had to go in the back to get the garnishes which was why he hadn't made the drink properly in the first place). The whole experience was not a great way to end our night or our stay at this otherwise beautiful hotel.
