This Hotel Had Way Too Many Issues
Upon arrival, they tried to tell me that I couldn't be accommodated and that they had been trying to get hotel.com to reach me. They indicated they had rooms unsuitable for booking and were overbooked. However, I had booked and paid for at least 1 of the rooms almost 2 months in advance. Additionally, the hotel had my information on file and could have reached out directly.
The rooms they did give me were the reverse of what I had requested. The confirmed bookings were for a king suite and a handicapped King room. What Fairfield Jackson provided were a handicapped King suite and a regular king room. This completely threw off what I needed and requested.
Additionally, the elevator was out of service, the telephone system did not work room to room, which in the case of the handicapped issue was more than a little disconcerting. Also, many of the cable channels did not work. Not due to cable system negotiations.
As for the exterior, the Hotel was being worked on and the parking lot was strewn with debris. I nearly popped a tire on a piece of wood with nails sticking out that was just lying in the parking space. It was unobservable and having arrived after dark, it could have been a real issue.
Lastly, they did not take any automobile information and allowed vehicles, without handicapped stickers or license plates to park in the handicapped parking spaces.
Overall this was a major disappointment for when I first stayed in the hotel just a few months earlier.
