Great stay at the Westin Osaka
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Westin Osaka. They had very good English speaking staff that were very helpful with giving us great recommendations on what to see in Osaka and Kyoto, how to get around, and where to eat. The room was very nice and they had great Christmas decorations.

Access (by car) from the expressway was easy. The underground garage was brightly lit and clean. The only point of dissatisfaction was that although our reservation was for 2 adults and a child, there was no nightwear for my son. The front desk apologized, explained that they don't have children's sizes, and then brought us an additional pair of adult PJs. All of that is okay if it is explained in advance.

Deluxe hotel a short walk from Osaka station (or a free shuttle bus). The decor was a bit dated and gaudy for my tastes and the 5yr old thought it looked "jazzy". The pool wasn't included in our stay and access was very expensive - we took the kids to Spa World instead which was not only cheaper but a fun kitschy side-trip! Room was as expected for a high end chain. The breakfast buffet items didn't change over our stay which became a bit monotonous.

Breakfast on 30 Dec was poorly run. Allocation of tables was very slow and clearly lacking manpower to prepare and clean the emptied tables. Many guests had to wait for at least 30 minutes for their tables. As a result of the delay, many guests did not have enough time for a proper breakfast. Breakfast still ended on time.

This is the first time visiting Japan. We live in the U.S and lived in South Korea. I wanted to show and explore how Japan is to my children who has never been to Asia.However, hotel staffs were very standard and no flexibilty at all from checkin time to check out. We left Osaka with very disappointed feeling about Japan because of every hotel staffs in Westin Osaka. My children said that people in this hotel were like Robot without any feeling and real kindness. They tended to be nice but not from real feeling and not from their heart. It was very truthful impression how they felt from teenager. It was very disappointing to stay in Westin.
