Great value
It’s a nice Inn with character and within walking distance to a lot of attractions. We went in the winter on a weekend with some unusual weather and the temperature outside dropped very rapidly which might be hard for a old building to handle but it was only a little cold in the room overnight. There was an extra blanket in the closet which helped a lot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at the Salem Inn again if we ever visit again.

Not a good experience
When arrived our room was not ready so we were upgraded into a room with no heat when the night temp was below 0. Then upgraded for the second night of stay to a room with pipes frozen no running water in kitchen area sink. Then on the last night they were going to switch us yet again to another room and we did not go cause we knew there was no heat in room they were going to put us into. I was already getting sick, we were given a log for the fireplace that was defective and it turned into a smoke bomb at 2 am had to open door to sitting room to air out smoke in the middle of our new year's night. The only part of the stay that was worth the visit was the breakfast with D'anne. After being told that we were going to be compt a night in the future, we were told because they kept us upgraded in the room they were not doing anything for us. We also left behind a blanket I had in my car for emergencies my boyfriend asked to have it sent to us and they said they did not have it. I will go back to Salem because many of my family members are there, I just will never go to the Salem Inn again, missed the mark on management and customer service.

Perfect mini vacation
Salem is a great town to walk around and discover local restaurants and history. The town is small enough to visit most locations of interest in about 3 days. Highly recommend the Howling Wolf for drinks and/or dinner and the Salem Night Tour (ask for Courtney for your guide).

Friendly staff, near everything!
Lovely hotel within walking distance of EVERYTHING in Salem. Friendly staff, good breakfast and afternoon wine & cheese, really good deal especially compared to an actual hotel at the harbor that wasn't as nice. The only faults: noise from the street during the early night can make resting a bit difficult, and the bathroom has a beautiful frosted glass window - which would be a nice feature if the bathroom had any kind of heating... Finally, wifi was super-slow and simply did not work for us.

Great location
Great location and breakfast ...service people super nice and accommodating. Was a little confusing finding where to park but once parked lots to do in walking distance.
