During our stay with the family we wanted to extend our stay for one more day as we wanted to see more of the city of Sarasota. We were happy to know we were going to have another day in the city and extended one more day at Home2suites. To our disappointment we had a poor experience with the hotel. We had rented two separate suites within the family initially and decided to get an extra night. Nonetheless the very next day a staff member asked why we were still at the room and looking at her watch as to indicate it was passed the check out time. Which was distasteful by the way and rude. But.. my parents stated to the employee that we had extended the stay and they had left us in the same room. With skepticism they looked at my mom as if she was lying or something and said ok. Then I kept on getting calls to my cell phone asking if I was going to check out from the other room and I had to reinstate to them AGAIN that our two suites had extended the stay the day prior with one of their staff members and paid for that extra night and they offered to leave us in the same room. If I would have known we would go through that hassle and inconvenience, I would have never extended that day. It really put a damper on our stay as it may us feel very uncomfortable. I have liked to stay at the Hilton suites but I have never experienced this in any hotel when I have extended my stays. It was very disappointing and made us feel humiliated and uncomfortable.
