Nice hotel but tiny room.
I had stayed in this hotel before, and liked it. However, as the room at my first visit - on the ground floor - had no windows, I asked for a room on a high floor to make sure I got a window. I did, but it looked straight into a grey wall. I went with my daughter, who is 172 cm and adult size, but we got a tiny room with a tiny bed - 120 cm. I would call it a single room. We did not sleep well any of the three nights. The two first mornings we were woken by housekeeping who kept slamming the door to the housekeeping room right next to our room. However, when we mentioned it in reception for the last morning it did help and they made sure to put something in the door to avoid it making noise. But maybe they were not used to this room being rented out? The hotel is nice and well situated, and the service is good and efficient, although not particularly varm. And exception was the porter, Gilbert, who was extremely friendly and sweet, which made up for his colleagues lack of smiles and warmth. He made us feel very welcome.

Great location and easy to find
Great location - easy walk from Euston or local tube stations (Russell Square or Holborn). Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel appears quite small but very clean. Room was extremely small, as was the bed!! We did book a small double though so we knew it wouldn't be big.....but wouldn't book it again as we were nearly falling out of the bed!! Bathroom was fine - although the plug didn't work when I went to have a bath. Shower was good though and nice toiletries. Breakfast was a good standard and again the staff were very nice. However, there was 4 of us who had dinner on the Saturday night and we were extremely disappointed with the food and slow service. We ordered drinks which came after we received our meal and we couldn't order a steak as they didn't have any!! My sister and I both ordered lasagne which was definitely not the best one I've had - in fact my sister said she had had a better ready meal lasagne. The waiter asked if she wanted to change it, so she asked for the ribs - and when they came (after the rest of us had finished eating) the chips were hard and the ribs were full of sinews and not very appetising at all! The ribs you buy in a supermarket were better..... Considering it was a Marco Pierre White restaurant - it was very poor. The only redeeming grace was our waiter (Robert) who was extremely apologetic, very gracious and tried to help us as much as he could (pity he couldn't have run out and got us some steak!!)

Warning, double beds are really small!!!
Stayed six nights, with my nine year old son. We had booked a smaller double bed room, but I was for certain that it was the room that was smaller, not the bed. The queen-size bed was only 120 centimeter wide (!!) and that was not giving us any room at all, so I went down to complain about this directly. The receptionist that was there said there were no room with larger beds available for one of the six nights (day after) but it should cost 20 pound extra per day and were no problem to fix that for us. We told them we wanted that and they also said they might get a cancellation day after so if we slept one night in the small bed we could then have five, instead of four, of the nights in a larger bed. When we talked to her the day after they had rented out the room we were supposed to have, the rest of the days too, but a supervisor say that my temper was about to explode and stepped in and got us another room, but while we were checking that the girl in the other counter hired that room out to other guest, but this guy managed to get another room anyway (so now they suddenly had more than one, magic!) and we could stay the rest of the four nights in a 140 centimeter wide double bed (I do not call a bed less than 160 cm a double bed, and 180 centimeter a regular double bed). There is other hotels with the same price, better size of beds and as good location, so guess I am not coming back to this hotel if not travelling alone.

Poor service; impolite and hypocritical staff
I am extremely disapppointed to this hotel. The staff are hypocritical and do not really welcome us (I don’t know if your staff do not welcome Asian customers. I could feel the discrimination). The bathtub was broken and the remote control was out of order. We asked the reception staff to follow up in the next morning. She marked down our requests but did not follow up when we came back in the evening. Actually I think that room (room 102) is not suitable for 2 persons’ living. The only friendly staff is Pierre. He helped us immediately at that evening. Housekeeping is also poor at times. For example, no cleaning on the used tea bags and tea pot; no replacing of shower cap. We ate the buffet breakfast in the hotel, and found that some of dishes were not properly cleaned. This leaves us poor impression. All in all, I felt extremely disappointed to the hotel’s service.

For some reason, because I asked for a walk-in shower, we were given a disabled room! Nobody contacted us to ask if that is what we wanted. If we had been disabled we would have found the bathroom very annoying. The showers head was to heavy to stay in place at the lower level: the basin tap had one handle, moving from left to right for cold to hot. However, the pressure of water also increased dramatically as the handle moved from left to right and shot out of the very small, low basin soaking whoever was using it. Thus, we never managed to have hot, or warm, water to wash. The main door to the room was so heavy it was very difficult to open, also it was impossible to fully open the wardrobe door.
