New Orleans overnight between Amtrak trains
Clean, comfortable room close to Union Passenger Station. Very comfortable bed. Too bad that the hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays.

Super unimpressed. 😐
Meh. The reviews and pictures were really deceiving. I’m confused as to why so many people found this place as fantastic as they did. I’m not an overly picky person and definitely don’t look for things to complain about, but this place was kind of run-down and dingy. We typically seek out historic boutique hotels when we travel so I get that the building is old but it could still be cleaned a little more thoroughly in the common areas and maintained a bit better (rooms and bathroom). The restaurant had weird hours and not open very long, the lobby was dirty and both the lobby and halls smelled funky (not weed funky but just kind of odd and slightly yucky?), both our keys stopped working at one point, there wasn’t really any info in the room about services or FAQ’s, the shower was crappy and water came out half from the shower head and half from the faucet, very limited TV channels, and I guess I should have checked first but not all the rooms have fridges so I was going to throw some stuff on ice overnight but who knows where the ice machine was (maybe on another floor?). Anyway, the couple of people we interacted with at the desk and valet were all friendly enough and the location was good and quiet. The WiFi worked and the bathroom and all the bed linens and towels were clean. For the price though, I definitely would have spent our last two nights at the Airbnb in the upper ninth where we were for the first four of our trip since we had a car anyway.

The room, staff and location were great! However, didn't have hot water the first morning and no television for first day and next morning.
