Good stay for the situation

We only were able to stay about eight hours due to our flight being cancelled. It was the 3rd accommodation we had this trip as we stayed at a condo in the area and then Grand Wailea and finally here. I booked through to find any room quickly as the hotels were quickly filled due to the large jet having 300 people scrambling to find someplace to stay. The listing said it was an $1100 room marked down to $310 I'm not sure where this number came from as even directly through the hotel it is about $325 for an average weekend stay. The front desk wasn't rude but was neither friendly or helpful. We didn't have any time to spend on any of the hotel amenities we simply slept and left back to catch our next flight. I don't know if any thing else offered would have made the price worth it but the room certainly was not. There was a crack in the wall everything needed updating and the room seemed standard size and would not have been comfortable with extra people. (we had a king suite) the lanai looked out to an obscured parking lot and was somewhat small as well. Overall it served our purposes but I would definitely recommend other places when staying in the area.

Exceptional 10.0
Overall a great place. Very convenient location and awesome staff. Only minor complaint was that the laundry vent system was right outside our patio so it was quite loud outside on the patio. Otherwise, we had a great stay.

Poor 2.0
Poor customer service at Maui coast hotel
My wife and I booked our suite on for Maui coast hotel and was told check in was at 3-4pm. We arrived at the hotel lobby at 5:30pm to check in and the lady at the front desk had no personality and showed us no welcoming spirit. She told us that our rooms was not ready yet and for us to come back at 7pm. We was both tired from our flight and just wanted to relax in our room. When we asked her why wasn't the room ready, she said that the hotel has a contract with the airlines (pilots & stewards stay in rooms for their stay in between flights) and that the flights was delayed so they are still in the rooms and the staff cannot clean it yet. We felt that Maui coast gives priority to their airlines contract than regular paying customers. The front desk lady even tried to say that the suites are a popular room and that they were overbooked. But as customers we didn't need to hear excuses, we needed solutions or a more pleasant accommodation from the hotel employee. This hotel has poor customer service and don't care about making them wait for a room. I will never stay there again or even recommend this hotel.

Very Good 8.0
We stayed for 6 nights and 5 days, and overall we like the hotel, and the location was very convenient for what we were doing all over the island. The one glaring exception was the two restaurants. We ate at the main restaurant the first day for dinner, and the service was okay, but the food was marginal at best, and overpriced for what it was. We ate lunch at the pool restaurant a few days later, and the waiter was very friendly, but the meal took forever to get there, and was way over cooked and Luke warm. The last day we were there, we went into the main restaurant for a quick breakfast before our tour, and there were 3 or 4 employees and only one other couple there eating. Employees walked by us a number of times without acknowledging us, and then after about 7 or 8 minutes, a guy came by and asked “ how many?” There were 3 of us. He sat us at a table, threw the menus down, and walked off without saying anything. A couple of minutes later, he came back and placed 2 glasses with fingerprints all over them, and said “you’ll need to put your outside beverages in my glasses”; we had just been to Starbucks, and were still drinking our coffees. When we asked why he said “ health regulations”, which we knew was bogus. We then told him we had brought Starbucks in. Few days ago, and nobodyhad said anything to us. He then s , “I’ll go get my manager”. These were the only words he spoke, and we got up and left. We paid $350 a night for this hotel, but will never stay there again.
