Bad experience in Rembrandt
This is my first stay at Rembrandt Hotel, recommended by my friend. However, the standard of the hotel is far from my expectations, especially on the concierge services. While staying in Rembrandt, we tried asking the concierge to help to get a taxi to BITEC at Bangna. We were first offered the hotel limousine service but prices were too expensive! After asking for a metered taxi and Innova for 4 of us, we were told the price of THB800 to get to BITEC!!! And when we asked for a local metered taxi, the guy at concierge told us to take BTS instead😡😡. I think something is wrong here. Even at the last day upon checking out, we informed the concierge specifically we wanted a metered taxi to the airport, but was pressured by the taxi driver to accept a fare of THB400 which the meter showed only THB250!!! I travel to Bangkok for business alot but it was the first time I am getting this kind of bad service from the concierge of the hotel. Needless to say, this would be the last time we will ever stay in Rembrandt! The photo of the nasty taxi driver is attached! Please do something to at least protect visitors like us!

Ok, great meat and great with a icey juice. Room was ok, vanity blocked, no ice tray and lever on the toilet (flush hane) not working too . Handed a note to the reception first day but when we left 3 days later nothing had been done. Aircon was bery noisy. Room was clean. Roof top bar (big draw card) was closed due to renovation. Biggest issue: We asked the concierge about floating markets and the palace and he was very quick to organise a taxi for the day and told us 1400 for private taxi all day and 500/person for palace..."there will be some fee for market ticket". How much? "Some fee".Well that fee was 2000 baht each. Markets are ok but we are looking at 6400 for the day and over 4 hours in the back of a cab. We did phiphi islands tour with speed boat, snorkling and an awesome lunch for a similar price.taxi driver was on the phone (on 3 phones all the time actually...bloody impressive multitasking in Bangkok traffic) to one of the girls at the market organising tickets and chit chatting. Markets are VERY same same. You can get a pickup and drop off AND market tour for less than half price. Concierge and taxi driver seemed rather friendly though. Prices in the hotel reataurants was way higher(probably expected but to pay similar price for a feed in Thailamd as inAustralia is a bit steep) than good restaurants nearby. Sukhumvit is rather expensive place in Thailand though. If you get a good deal through Wotif or other app then its ok. Just do some research on pricing.

Family Holiday in Bangkok
My family just returned from a 6-days trip to Bangkok and we stayed at the Rembrandt Hotel. Hotel is not located very near to the main Sukhumvit Road but there is a complimentary Tuk-Tuk service to bring you out. Once you get there it is very convenient to take both BTS Skytrain or MRT Subway train, considering that both Asok and Sukhumvit Stations are located just meters apart and linked with a walkway. The big and trendy Terminal 21 shopping mall is located next to the Asok BTS Station, we took dinner and watch movie there on one of the night. Food wise the breakfast buffet spread was acceptable, Gym was good but the swimming pool might be a bit small for lap swimming. There are resturants located on the same Soi 18 near to the Hotel, you can find nice Thai foods at affordable price.

Great location & facilities
This is a hard to beat "value for money" hotel. The location combined with all the facilities at the hotel I would have expected it to cost a lot more. sure somethings maybe could be renewed/renovated - but everything works (good wifi too), Everything is fresh and clean. Like our room, we booked a deluxe room, it was fine but had an "old feeling" with walltowall carpets, darker colors - then we booked another room for our daughter for a few days and got a regular superior room (cheaper) but it was fresher with hardwood floors which gave a "newer" feeling (next time I would go for the cheaper superior room...), our deluxe did hava a nicer view and windows in two directions. Aircon in room was a bit noicy - high, med, low setting didnt change it so problably a duct problem and not the fan. Big hotel, lots of tourists so the pool gets crowded at times. The poolarea is nice, attentive staff, nice food from the italian restaurant next to it, nice bathroom facilities by the pool and a nice gym, plenty of equipment (and like i said before, it all works). Four (i think) restaurants within hotel so you have choises, and plenty of more within minutes on the soi (best one is Lean on tree, costs a few baht more, but really good, levels better than the other ones close to the hotel), really nice skybar, good drinks, nice view, dont miss Gin & Jazz night (try Iron Balls gin). Perfect place in Bangkok, 15 min (tops) walk to BTS,MRT, at their prices I find this a bargain, recommended.

No Bum Guns!
The Rembradt is a nice hotel. Upon learning it was my birthday they upgraded my room for free without me asking, and then gave me a late check-out time for free, too. It is in a great part of the city with a nice Mexican restaurant virtually next door. It's about a 10 minute walk to Sukhumvit and the BTS. My only complaint is that this luxury hotel in Thailand does not have any bum guns to wash-up after using the toilet. This might not seem like a big deal, but I assure you that it is a major faux paux, as all of their guests are walking around with dirty asses. The bum gun is essential in tropical climates and this oversight left my butt feeling kind of raw for a couple of days afterwards. As a result this hotel will go on my list of BKK hotels that don't have bum guns and I will neither stay at them nor recomend them to visiting guests. The bathtub was really nice, though, I really enjoyed my two baths I was able to take!
