Meliá Nassau Beach - All Inclusive, Nassau
This place is old and in need of a major renovation. I am not an all inclusive person so I only had one lunch on the property and it was ok. I feel that the rate was ridiculously high for the accommodation.

Whatever your expectations are
Pluses: beach, beach activities, free shuttle to casino, and easy access to downtown. Food was ok, but also could have more choices and different selections at the buffet. Minuses: hotel is outdated and in need of major renovations. 1 pool is under way, but my room had multiple issues and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. Rooms and smell was common complaint from guests I spoke with. Could be more activities for adults. Night time was dead. Possibly slow for winter? Pool was also unheated and unfortunately during my first few days was too cold for anyone to actually use. Fairness to the hotel I went at the end of January, but can’t say I have ever been at a high end hotel that didn’t have a heated pool. I’ve been to multiple all inclusive hotels throughout the Carribean and world. This was definitely just a below average one. Nothing fantastic besides the beach, and the poor room quality put a bad taste in my mouth all week (when asked to change rooms I was told I could move to the first floor with a nice view of construction around the pool). Stayed with my ocean view from the 7th floor. It may have been a great hotel in 1988, but in 2018 I would consider this a 2 star hotel.

Don't do it
For the price of this place the "all inclusive" food is horrible! Nothing tasted fresh or edible - I felt like I was going to get food poisoning at every meal. The pool was freezing and the hot tub was like a cold bath - they didn't even turn on. Their were not enough chairs at the pools - the beach is small and crowded and you must get up early to claim your chairs and then go back to bed to even have a chance of getting a seat. The room was ok - TV was outdated and the furniture was huge for the room size, we booked a room with two double beds and when we checked-in they did not have any. Also no one tells you if you want to eat at any of the restaurants on property you must make a reservation, don't expect any menu's in the rooms. - if you want a half baked place on the beach - Melia is your bet!
