Best value for location and comfort
Sage Inn is perfect for walking to the Railyard, walking or catching their shuttle to the downtown plaza, walking next door to Whole Foods, or walking along the rail trail to La Choza for a great meal. The rooms are cozy and clean and the staff is terrific.

Comfortable, clean and cozy!
I actually loved this hotel, even though the room was pretty small for 4 of us, and the breakfast could definitely be improved with more hot buffet-style items (like scrambled eggs, bacon, etc). The public spaces and the rooms were clean and nicely-decorated; the Southwestern decor is a tasteful added touch; the outdoor patio with fire pit is pretty fabulous; and the property is very centrally-located in the town of Santa Fe. I was offered a complimentary late check-out upon arrival (which I graciously accepted); when it was time to check out, I received phone calls from the front desk and knocks on the door from the cleaning staff. Apparently other staff had not been notified of our late check-out status. So perhaps internal communication can be improved. Otherwise, though, this spot is a great place to rest your head comfortably while enjoying Santa Fe!

Saggy mattresses
We have enjoyed the Sage Inn for years. We like its location and the shuttle service to the plaza. However, it's time to get some new beds. we had a room with two queen sized beds. The beds were very soft and saggy. It was worse on the side of the mattress next to the nightstand. I guess that makes sense, but it also suggests it's time for new mattresses. The Sage is almost always fully booked every time I'm there. I hope they'll be upgrading their mattresses soon. They sure seem to make enough money to make such an investment, perhaps a building floor at a time . . .
