About Delta King Hotel, Sacramento

Riverboat hotel near Old Sacramento with free WiFi

Literally on the water

Delta King Hotel is a riverboat moored on the Sacramento River along Old Sacramento’s waterfront, a 4-minute walk from the California State Railroad Museum. You’re also a 10-minute walk from the permanent collections and rotating exhibits found at the Crocker Art Museum.

Close to state history

A 4-minute drive gets you to the California State Capitol Museum and the chance to check out California’s history through various works of art. If you'd like a glimpse of California’s pioneer life, the artifacts at the historic Sutter’s Fort can be reached by car in 9 minutes.

Elegant public space

The hotel’s interior features rich, warm woods and traditionally elegant furniture that captures the venue’s past life as a working vessel. You can start the day with cooked breakfast at The Pilothouse, one of the 2 restaurants; the other, Delta Bar & Grill, has live music.

Warmly decorated rooms

The hotel’s appreciation of its luxurious past extends to its guestrooms, as dark woods and deep earth tones give them a warm, intimate feel; some rooms have shared verandas. This ambience makes it easy to relax as you use the free WiFi to surf the Web.

Pleasant stay with hiccups
Boat was interesting and endearing. Shower in the bathroom lost pressure after putting shampoo in my hair on two separate occasions. Valet service was extremely slow considering the $25 per night fee. Breakfast was included and delicious our first morning. Second morning hours were reduced due to Mother’s Day brunch and we missed our free Breakfast was was offered to upgrade to the brunch for an additional $25. No thanks. Overall was a pleasant stay just a few hiccups.

Old Town Sacramento
Historic place and cool to see but the rooms are very small. Valet for parking is your only option and the service on that was a bit slow. The overall service however was fantastic. The folks there seem to really care about your experience and always greet you with a smil

Excellent Hotel
I saw several reviews about the size of the rooms and that they were too small. We did not have that experience. We stayed on level 4 and had a view of the river. I thought our room was a perfect size and didn't feel smaller than any other hotel I've stayed at. The view was beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast that was included with our room was delicious. We had dinner at the Pilothouse restaurant and it was so good. All the staff was very friendly and the tv had an excellent selection of channels. Overall we had an amazing time, loved the room and the view. Would come again!!

Riverboat fun
Really fun experience staying on an authentic riverboat. Given that it is a riverboat however, expect a slight slant to the floor and some low ceilings. My only real complaint was that the room smelled very strongly of cleaners when we checked in and the windows do not open to allow air into the room. Other than that, great stay. Also, food from the restaurant was very good but a bit pricey.

The room was not ready. And when they checked us in, they gave us a room key to a couple who was already checked in before us.
