A nice little treat.
The parking is kind of annoying, $25/valet, or park on the street metered I think 8am-10pm. The front desk woman was very nice. My room was cute & cozy, warmed up very quickly when I turned up the heater, hot water is quick to the faucet when needed. The old fashioned toilet took a couple of tries to get used to, but it's cute so I didn't mind. The WiFi was fast and reliable. The service at the bar & restaurant was a little odd, but pretty fast. Breakfast was generous! It's fun to be on a boat. The bed was very comfortable. It's in the middle of Old Sac, so if you want to tour around there, it's a great place to stay. It would be fun to have drinks or dinner on the deck with friends. I was hoping it would feel like being on a boat, but it must be pretty well affixed to it's place, it doesn't bob or sway at all - good news if you get sea sick, a little disappointing if you like to try your sea legs. I prefer to have a fridge in my room, but it was worth it to sleep on a boat for a night.

Nothing Chamring About This Hotel
The room was filthy and the service was terrible. From the start of checking in was a hassle and getting help with my luggage was unavailable. The room need to be vacuumed and dusted. The bathroom looked as if it had just a light wipe down. Stuff was on the walls and I couldn’t believe how filthy the shower was. The restaurant hostess refused to seat us with a view of the river. THERE WAS NO ON IN THE RESTAURANT BUT US!!! Then after we get our drinks she sits three couples in the section we wanted to sit. The food was bland and flavorless. I was just counting down the hours till check out.

The staff was very accommodating and attentive. I was able to leave my luggage in the lobby storage and my car in the valet parking until my seminar was over in the afternoon. I had originally planned to put my belongings in the car and leave it in their parking area until the female clerk that morning warned me against it. She actually sought me out at breakfast and suggested leaving them in the lobby storage. The cooked breakfast was very good and a nice change from the typical make your own waffle or select your yogurt at most chain motel/hotels. The bed was pleasant, comfortable and adequate. Note the rooms are small because it is a paddleboat that used to cruise between San Francisco and Sacramento. The bath was close quarters but adequate. Overall it was a pleasant experience and thank you to the happy hour bar man who let me have the Proseco. It was an elegant way to enjoy the sunset.
