Historic Riverboat stay.....
A fun experience staying on a historical riverboat..... it was as comfortable as something that old could possibly be!! Right in the middle of Old Town Sacramento, everything in walking distance. Loved it 😊😉

Could have been better...
Personally I thought it was a really beautiful venue and it was on my bucket list however this was one Adventure that did not live up to my expectations. Riverboat Hotel on the Sacramento River sounds like a true dream weekend for a couple right? This was one of the worst experiences we've had in quite a while. Of course you're on a ship the rooms are small they did not tell us that the whole ship is leaning at a 45 degree angle so you're basically walking at an angle everywhere. The bar is nice the restaurant small there's lots of other little places and venues near by which is cool. The best secret thing we found out was there's a comedy club directly across the street that has some of the best food and drinks so I'd say skip the Delta King and just go to the Comedy Club.

Great Staycation
Lots of activities within walking distance or enjoy an evening sitting on the deck watching the boats go by.

Delta King in decline
Sadly this property has declined noticeably since our last visit a couple of years ago. The tables and chairs outside on the upper decks used to be plentiful. Now they are almost all gone. We know the rooms vary in size but this one was extremely small, the bathroom the same. The frame or box springs on the bed was broken. The one side of the bed sunk almost to the floor. Mattress wasn’t broken down. The bed was broken. Old Town Sacramento has also declined. Homeless everywhere. Car loads of young men cruising around openly drinking in the cars. Literally no police presence at all. Notable parts of the Delta King wood work have large wood rot holes in it. The owner needs to start reinvesting in this property.

Great service but a little outdated.
The staff were lovely and the breakfast was surprisingly good. Parking was awkward, with no one offering to help us with luggage. We expected a small room, so that wasn't the issue. The toilet didn't flush properly and the shower was pitiful. The wifi was really really slow. There were no hangers in the miniscule closet unit. The bed was comfortable. My husband liked the fact we were on a boat, but I don't think we'll stay again.
