Won't go again. Don't recommend.
The outside of the building was a turn off. Needs some painting and just general upkeep. While checking in, the fire alarm went off. Clerk said it had been acting up lately. Ok, no big deal. When we were approaching our room, it stunk of smoke but we were near the exit doors so i assumed it was outside. Inside our room, the security door latch had been torn off of its metal base. Strange but there was a deadbolt too so let it go. At 10:30 pm we came in for the evening. No parking left in the lot. Desk clerk sd we could park at Olive Garden next door and we "shouldn't" be towed. 4:30 am the fire alarm went off. I called front desk and fire was real this time, behind a dryer. Went to front desk area and stayed until fire fighters left. As we were preparing to leave, found a large dead bug on the windowsill in our room. Also, there was a plastic bag wrapped around our room's smoke detector. Assuming the last guest did this and smoked in the room thus the smell from earlier. At $119/night, I expected a MUCH nicer hotel. Clearly cleanliness and upkeep is not a high priority here. I would not stay again and would not recommend. I did mention our room's issues and was given $50 off. I feel like it should have been free but didnt want to argue and just accepted the discount.

Room 116 is right behind the laundry room and there was some kind of noise coming from there every 60seconds. Front desk apologized, said he doesn’t know why they use that room. Moved us to a business suite. Staff is very polite and friendly.

We were put in a handicap room ( we are not handicapped) and there was a constant machine noise in the area around our room. Very annoying but we were too tired to complain or move.

The hotel is very clean. We were in our room within 2 minutes of walking in. Water pressure was decent. It's a decent hotel and it's minutes from the University of Dubuque.
