Wanted to love this hotel but unfortunately we were disappointed with our stay there. Positives: great location, friendly staff, gorgeous lobby, bar and lounge area and very cool meditation area outside. Negatives: lots of ants in our room and a/c was broken. We got in late Thursday night and didn't realize about the a/c till the next day, at that point we did not feel like moving to another room so we didn't bring it up to management. It's unknown whether they would have been accommodating or not. Other points of interest that might be useful when deciding whether to book here: there was not a bathtub in our room (not a reason for the lower rating but a helpful tip for those that like to take baths!) and there is no room service. There is food at the bar downstairs but it cannot be ordered up to the room.

Just okay. Our room was quite comfortable though the bathroom didn't have a door, only the toilet room had one. Lobby is really stunning and comfortable for drinks. The $28 breakfast was mediocre and the $27 resort fee was ridiculous. It is a nice hotel, not a resort.

Beautifully renovated. Not quite sure of the “theme” anymore. Used to be totally Asian, now it is modern, Asian, hippie, cabin-like in the lobby. Very mixed theme. Would have given 5 stars except——-the clock in the room was off by 1.5 hours and both my wife and I tried to reset it without success. The other thing was that when you lay in the bed, every 30 seconds or so up until around 1130 pm, there was a buzzing sound. Could not figure out where it was coming from, but it was annoying. Also did not know that the restaurant renovation was not complete. That was upsetting because we had planned to eat dinner one night there . The advertisement for the hotel says the renovations are complete, they are not. Breakfast was a RIPOFF. It was less than a continental breakfast and it was not cheap. It was AWFUL. We were there for my 6-thbirthday and to be honest, it was a let down. Finally, they charge 20 plus dollars per night to use their gym and “water hydration” and coffee bar oh and WiFi, which is supposed to be free. Come on folks, that is a little bit too much. Not sure if I will stay there again, and we usually do stay 2-3 times per year.

SF J-Town stay
Good location in J-Town and close to Fillmore St.. Room was clean. Lot of road noise as our room was close to Geary Ave. Internet connection was unstable throughout the stay. Fitness room was well equipped. Nice re-modeled lobby/lounge area.
