Fabulous bedding! Large lovely room!
Fabulous overall! Wish the Caribbean Room or Jack Rose restaurants were open early in the week but the manager of the Bayou Bar was a delight & hospitable in the extreme. Front Desk fabulous! Father & daughter, Jerry & Brittany, met my every request especially the room & floor! No turn-down service but that was fine. Gorgeous comfortable bedding, quiet, no rush, just church bells sounding out "Amazing Grace" & the rhythmic rumble of the Saint Charles streetcar. Great cocktails in the rooftop bar "The Hot Tin" (as in " Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". My room had subtle & beautiful Louisiana gouaches & paintings. The whole experience was charming! Good housekeeping & every service offered from valet to concierge. Just a gentle suggestion-lobby needs a little freshening same period furniture reupholstered here & there. Will return this summer. Merci beaucoup!

Rude elevator doorman
The big doorman was actually rude even he calls you "Sir". There were two of them. I feel the skinny one was pretty friendly. Here is what happened. I checked in around 6:30 pm on March 17th, and walked to the elevator area - now I am facing the entrance/exit. I just got there while a group of people walking into the elevator from the opposite direction with me. While I was still trying to figure out the situation (To be honest, my mind was a little slow after a long journey since the early morning), a nice young lady just told me "you go" with a kind gesture. So I jumped in the line while the doorman immediate called out "Sir I need you step out the line". So I did. Then everyone else got in the elevator and there were still space. So he told me now you could get into the elevator, so I followed the direction again. That should be it, right? The guy yelled at me again: "Sir you need to wait in the line...Just FYI". As I said earlier, I was slow with my mind - actually I normally do not pay too much attention to other people's attitude to me. Now I started to feel some how offended, and only could responded with "Yes I know. I believe that's enough" before the elevator door closed up. Now tell you about myself. I am 44-year old, quite, and glass-wearing Asian guy who have taught at an university for a decade now. I have travelled frequently and stayed in hotels in most US states, and have never offended anyone. This is the first time how I was welcomed by a hotel personnel.
