Same great hotel but without the great service
I'm a Fan of MOM and stay as often as I can, especially a the one in KL despite its tragically difficult location to get in and out (sometimes just pulling up to the front door adds 30 min even though you are already at KLCC due to the inconvenient drop off front door that is always jammed) This time the service was less than stellar too, card kept deactivating, we had to call over several days to get help with our safe, and the last morning we went down for a cup of coffee and the restaurant kept trying to sell us on the buffet (we just wanted a cup of coffee). They ended up charging us $50MYR for it. When we complained at the front desk the front desk informed us that there was complimentary coffee right in the check in area! Would have been nice if the restaurant had told us. I expect more from the Mandarin. Still a Fan but slightly disillusioned after this last experience.

Great Hotel for NYE - club room recommended!
My husband and I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for 3 nights over New Year. We booked a club room for our stay. We arrive shortly before 2pm which is the check in time and our room wasn’t ready but we were able to use the club lounge. Our room slightly was late being ready which was frustrating but this was the only glitch in the whole stay. The room was wonderful - a very good size, comfortable bed and the bathroom was fabulous with a large shower cubical and separate bath. The room was cleaned daily and a special thank you goes to the cleaners who did a great job every day - they even arranged your toiletries! There was also a turndown service provided each evening. The pool at the hotel is great - an infinity pool with a view of KLCC park. There are not however enough sun-beds for the amount of rooms so we found ourselves waiting for people to leave every time we wanted one. The gym at the hotel is very good, one of the best I have experienced at a hotel. The club lounge has great views of the towers. You can have breakfast in the lounge (though the restaurant on the ground floor had a better choice of food), afternoon tea and drinks and canapés in the evening (the canapés are more like a full meal - very tasty). The staff were all very helpful and kept topping up drinks. In club rooms you also get 5 items laundered every day for free which is useful. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay - we would absolutely recommend this hotel in KL.

Very Good 8.0
a really lovely place to stay. staff are excellent, breakfast is of the highest quality. we had a room looking out onto the petronas towers so the views were amazing. its ideally located to explore KL. however, we booked a family room so were expecting a double bed and a single bed for my son. there was no single bed so he ended up sleeping on cushions on the floor for a week. despite repeat requests to the hotel to provide a bed and reassurances from them that they would sort it, no bed appeared which is a big negative in what would otherwise have been an near perfect stay.

Perfect hotel in the heart of KL.
This was our first long haul journey with Qatar, which was fantastic. On arrival at our hotel, we were amazed at the attention to detail, cleanliness and comfort and the considerate and kind staff. This was our first time to KL and I am sure that this will not be our last. Every attention was afforded to us to make our first visit special. The staff could not do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The hotel was to an exceptionally high standard and, although it was in the heart of KL, we had no problem with noise. The Patronas Towers, KL tower and mall were all within easy walking distance. We enjoyed the nearby walk in the park and sampled the delights of the rain forest canopy walk. We found it easy to book taxis' and found our way round many interesting tourist sites worthy of visit, such as the Battu Caves and the bird sanctuary. We took a taxi and stayed overnight at Ipoh, where we stayed at the Banjaran resort enjoying the hot thermal springs and the meditation and crystal caves. We sampled culinary delights in local restaurants in KL and when we wanted to take a rest, we simply enjoyed the pool at the hotel for relaxation. There is a spa, wellbeing, yoga activities, a gym and tennis courts for those interested in more activity or in need of rest and wellbeing. I enjoyed taking part in a little yoga/Pilates in my room where you can request a mat if you need it and follow a series on your television screen rather than join the group.

Excellent service, fantastic room service bfast.
On a 7 day work trip when I needed downtime as well the Mandarin was perfect. The service level, quality of food in the room service, the comfort of the room made me want to live there for a good while longer. If you need a private R&R it is not possible to improve on this hotel. It is getting old, some furniture showing it, but it is entirely irrelevant when what really matters is provided with excellence. Gym is large and well equipped.
