Great Hotel for NYE - club room recommended!
My husband and I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for 3 nights over New Year. We booked a club room for our stay. We arrive shortly before 2pm which is the check in time and our room wasn’t ready but we were able to use the club lounge. Our room slightly was late being ready which was frustrating but this was the only glitch in the whole stay. The room was wonderful - a very good size, comfortable bed and the bathroom was fabulous with a large shower cubical and separate bath. The room was cleaned daily and a special thank you goes to the cleaners who did a great job every day - they even arranged your toiletries! There was also a turndown service provided each evening. The pool at the hotel is great - an infinity pool with a view of KLCC park. There are not however enough sun-beds for the amount of rooms so we found ourselves waiting for people to leave every time we wanted one. The gym at the hotel is very good, one of the best I have experienced at a hotel. The club lounge has great views of the towers. You can have breakfast in the lounge (though the restaurant on the ground floor had a better choice of food), afternoon tea and drinks and canapés in the evening (the canapés are more like a full meal - very tasty). The staff were all very helpful and kept topping up drinks. In club rooms you also get 5 items laundered every day for free which is useful. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay - we would absolutely recommend this hotel in KL.

Perfect hotel in the heart of KL.
This was our first long haul journey with Qatar, which was fantastic. On arrival at our hotel, we were amazed at the attention to detail, cleanliness and comfort and the considerate and kind staff. This was our first time to KL and I am sure that this will not be our last. Every attention was afforded to us to make our first visit special. The staff could not do enough for us to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The hotel was to an exceptionally high standard and, although it was in the heart of KL, we had no problem with noise. The Patronas Towers, KL tower and mall were all within easy walking distance. We enjoyed the nearby walk in the park and sampled the delights of the rain forest canopy walk. We found it easy to book taxis' and found our way round many interesting tourist sites worthy of visit, such as the Battu Caves and the bird sanctuary. We took a taxi and stayed overnight at Ipoh, where we stayed at the Banjaran resort enjoying the hot thermal springs and the meditation and crystal caves. We sampled culinary delights in local restaurants in KL and when we wanted to take a rest, we simply enjoyed the pool at the hotel for relaxation. There is a spa, wellbeing, yoga activities, a gym and tennis courts for those interested in more activity or in need of rest and wellbeing. I enjoyed taking part in a little yoga/Pilates in my room where you can request a mat if you need it and follow a series on your television screen rather than join the group.

A 5-Star Stay.
We spent just one night there for some business in town. It was everything one should expect from a renown five-stars chain. Everything regarding the stay itself is superb and given the chance if we go to Kuala Lumpur again we will definitely consider this hotel again. But if you order in-room breakfast, remember to tell them to bring milk for your hot drink because they do not think it should comes with the sugar and milk standard. On the other note, we dined at the Mandarin Grill and it was a very underwhelming experience. We booked the restaurant at 6.30, there are no one greeting us in the front and we had to stand there for five minutes, then we were almost reprimanded while brought to the bar that 'we are still briefing the staff,' like we are too early. (But we booked with the hotel concierge and arrive on time, not before.) The wagyu steak is ok, a bit dry and in the rare side for 'medium', not outstanding in anyway, again, not up to the MO standard we've encountered. Plus there is the very strange and, in my humblest opinion, abhorring dish decoration especially for the white asparagus dish. Five huge white asparagus, peeled but not cut, piled with a pile of sad looking potato, and slapped some tasteless-textureless chicken on top. That dish in particular looks like some tourist restaurant in Jordan instead of a 5-star hotel restaurant in the capital of Malaysia with the price tag that rival Michelin starred restaurant in London. Very disappointing in this part.

Fantastic hotel, great location
Mandarin Oriental KL trulu leaves nothing more to wish for. Its newly renovated rooms are super comfortable (even in the most affordable category) and beautiful. Wonderful bathroom, very comfy bed with high quality linens, pillows and duvet cover. Nescafe capsule coffee maker in the room brews good quality coffee. Excellent Gym (incl Concept II rowing machines and lots of Technogym machines). Locker rooms are super clean and spacious, two whirlpools, lots of showers and a Finnish Sauna next to a Turkish Steambath. The only critisism that I can offer is that the Finnish sauna could be renovated (men´s side) as the wooden interior has deteriorated slighly in comparison with all other areas and facilities in this Magnificant hotel. One can also throw water on the stones which is not always the case in hotels and Finnish Saunas abroad, but for a Finn this is important. Heated floors in the locker room & Shower area just add to the attention of details. A lounge room for relaxation next to showers, whirlpools, saunas and locker room. The hotel allowed us to use the gym/pool area even after check-out without restrictions, which was highly appreaciated as our flight left back to Europe at midnight. This way I was able to get a work-out done before leaving the hotel and have a proper shower and relaxing sauna & swim before our flight. Pool area is also very nice with impeccable service. This is truly a great hotel with perfect location next to twin towers & shopping/restaurant areas.

Poor 2.0
terrible experience
it was terrible. i can’t believe they advertised famous K-Pop idol artists would be staying this hotel on Mandarin Oriental official twitter. so it was super crowded at 1:00 am to chek in. staffes are only 2~3. i booked club room but no concierge service at that time and i waited 40 minutes to check in at 1:00 AM!!! when i check out, I asked what happened last night , and they lied it was crowded because of middle east asian’s festival. but in fact iw was their fault to advertise for their special guests. i can’t understand why they didn’t keep guests’s privacy, and why didn’t make plan to check in super crowded guests(Wanna One’s fans) i asked room cleaning service because i had proble with my bath tub, and all towels were wet, but the maid didn’t make clean or changing the towels, she only keep back my jelly gummy on the mini bar.
