The hotel was so central--very close to the port, many different types of restaurants, and the metro. In addition, I chose the hotel because it was so close to the Tourism office, where many tours start. I had a narrow room--perfect for one person. I had two windows with a view to the port--not sure if I would choose that again since I was so close to the port anyway, is the extra charge worth it.

Hotel is dated and in need of repairs and updating - notably the giant leak in the ceiling of the dining room. Bedding was not very comfortable. Staff was adequate but not overly welcoming. The best thing about the hotel was the location, despite the unsightly abandoned & derelict storefront on the ground level.

Nice hotel if you are visiting Marseilles
First, this hotel made our trip to Marseilles. We had to drive through rundown neighborhoods to get there, but the hotel and the port area was an oasis in the midst. It is an easy walk to the historic area. The staff was very helpful and kind. Loved the room: very spacious, modern, and comfortable. The bathroom was huge, and had everything except an outlet. We had a small view of the port from our window, which I loved. The breakfast buffet was worth it, having a large selection and even hot foods. Parking garage was from the mall where we could park and was right across the street. If I ever go back to Marseilles, I would definitely stay there.

Perfect location to explore the city
Very centrally located. The Visitors Bureau information office was literally around the corner. Right next to Metro stations. Across the street from the Port. Restaurants, shops, open all markets: all at your finger tips.

my experience in New Hotel View port
The area is quite dirty even though location by itself is good (really next to the view port), but that's a problem if Marseille as a city all over. The area is not very safe, and you have to be careful regarding your personal belongings. I found my room overpriced: it was not very well renovated, isolation was bad (noise from the street terrible even on the 4th floor), poor choice for breakfast, no dinning in service. Man working at the registration (curly hair, glasses) was very helpful and friendly, but some of his colleagues not so much (brown hair lady for instance was not very friendly and acted almost rude when I asked her to check that cab she orders for me accepts credit cards).
