Fabulous service, better than 'Four Seasons' level. A unique property of the world with historical significance. Perfect position in the city. The Brune Bar restaurant was better than some M2* restaurants where I've dined. No expresso maker in room, nor coffee in lobby...I do NOT want to deal with a restaurant or room service just to have a first coffee. Don't expect tech support...the room tablet was dysfunctional and no one but the 'IT Guy' could address the problem...and he was not there for two days.

The fall of an iconic brand
Although this is an iconic hotel, it is not a place I would recommend to a guest that expects a 5 stars hotel experience nor a quite stay, away from the crowds. The hotel offers several restaurants, bars and café however there is no area dedicated to the hotel guests only, as a result we were forced to rely on luck to be able to enjoy even any of the sitting areas. This is a rather unusual set-up for a 5 stars hotel. We once visited the Café Sacher. The waiting time was long, the cups were dirty and the tea pot chipped in addition we had tourist starring persistently through the window and taking pictures of the guest – which should not be allowed. We once also visited the Sacher Eck. We ordered a Strudel and a glass of champagne amongst other food. The Strudel was cold and the paste like chewing gum and the champagne was “flat” and not cold enough. Every morning we had breakfast at the hotel, however the only option was a rather expensive buffet. It was not possible to order ‘a la carte”. Again, this is rather unusual for a 5 stars hotel where giving options and choice to the guest is paramount. In addition, one morning our coffee cups which had a revolting egg smell. Finally, we had the Christmas day lunch based on a ‘set menu’ at the hotel. We were required to pre-book it however, at no time, we were asked if we had any food allergies in order to ensure that all guest can enjoy the ‘set menu: this was rather difficult as one of us is dairy intolerant and therefor

Magical stay in Vienna
We chose this hotel because it is close to the Opera House. It is next door to it. The superior room was beautiful, wifi worked, the bathroom was beautifully laid out in marble, great rain shower, big tub, heated bathroom floor. AC works flawlessly, many power outlets. The breakfast buffet is offers any breakfast fare you can imagine, eggs and omletts to order, champagne, baked goods, cold cuts, jams, fruit and fruit salads, yogurts, cheese and much more. In addition you can order a la carte breakfast. the service is exceptional: from the airport pick up, room cleaning, turn down. I needed my dress altered and they arranged for a seamstress to come in on a Sunday to measure the dress and shorten it (no charge). The concierge found me a coat to wear the night we went to the opera house (free of charge). When we wanted to visit the famous Sacher Cafe, the receptionist called and immediately guided us through the hotel to the cafe and the table that was waiting for us, while we noticed people queuing outside for one of the desirable seats. The tables at the "Blue Bar" can be reserved, a fact we were not aware of when we wanted to meet with friends there on Saturday night (Our stay was during the Viennese "ball season" and the bar is a popular meeting place to ring in the evening). We were lucky that turn-over was quick and managed to get one of 4 tables in the bar. We will stay at the Sacher again when we return to Vienna.

Fantastic hotel in the centre of the city
The Hotel Sacher Wien is in the city centre and walkable to all the major attractions. The staff here are very friendly, professional and will do anything to make your stay enjoyable. There are a lot of little touches the hotel undertakes in its rooms which made our stay that much more special. The only issue was the heat in the room. The temperature can be changed and the A/C can be switched off however you cannot change the temperature in the bathroom. The underfloor heating made it stifling. It was -3 during our stay so understandable that the heating was on. Unfortunately, for us the heat made the atmosphere in the room very dry and meant that neither of us slept well the entire trip. Not sure what the hotel can do about it, but wanted to mention it as this was the reason the Room Cofort rating is 3/5. The Cafe Sacher is definitely worth a visit. The cafe itself is beautiful and the cake was very nice. All in all, a great hotel with fantastic staff.

Perfect Romantic Stay!
It's safe to say Vienna is a great place for a romantic getaway, and so it did not surprise me when I realized the Sacher hotel was the perfect place the stay. Not only are the restaurants, lobbies and most communal areas absolutely gorgeous, the rooms were also just as beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Of course this wouldn't be a good review if I didn't mention the famous Sacher Torte, which is to die for and you can have it straight in your bed through room service! I can't forget the staff who were so helpful and just very professional, the spa facilities were fantastic as well (do try the couples massages). Overall an amazing stay and I can't wait to go back!
