Family friendly hotel, but needs more TLC in rooms
PRO's: Front desk staff amazing. Very helpful & friendly. Hotel offers laundry facilities ($2.00 per wash and $2.00 per dry) Baymont has a wonderful hot & cold continental breakfast 6:30-8:30am. Variety of items, not available everyday, they do switch it up a bit. Waffles, pancakes, sausage patties, eggs, bagels, toast, croissants, cereals etc. Elevators are located on each corner pillar of the property. Pool is basic rectangular shaped. Rooms have fridges, safes, coffee makers, & hair dryers. Baymont offers free shuttles to/from Universal once per day as well as Disney (not sure of that schedule though) CON's: My only disappointment with the place was the house-keeping. Not that great. Our room clearly needed a good vacuuming. Under the beds had a bit of garbage when we arrived. Behind the nightstand hadn't seen a vacuum in a long time. The bathroom baseboards and floor edges were also unclean. Looks more like a quick wipe of the floor rather than a deep clean. (also, the bathroom had been renovated and they installed the tub surround upside down! So the "shelves" were not usable shelves because the flat side was on the bottom!) On one of our days we were able to sleep in and had the "do not disturb" sign out. Housekeeping was in our area around 9ish but we never left until 10:30am at which time we removed the "do not disturb" Housekeeping never bothered to come back to check and our room was not cleaned that day at all.

Baymont Hotel - a mixed bag
Booked this budget hotel for five nights in July. Room was quite small for a family of four but was clean and had toiletries. However, the WiFi was not working in our room during the stay. The manager refunded the amenities charge for our stay. However, I spent a lot of time in the lobby near reception trying to access the WiFi and saw a constant stream of complaints to the reception staff, when the general manager popped in and spoke to the receptionist I made a point of telling him she was dealing well with a constant stream of complaints. He did not ask what the complaints were. When I spoke to another manager about the WiFi and the drainage near the pool (a grassed area was complete sludge) I was told that bit of ground did not belong to the hotel. The guest services desk seem to be running a sideline offering guests a free ride to Disneyland and 100 dollars if you sign up for a “presentation”, when I went to Guest services on arrival his first words to me were “Do you have a credit card?” Again, the manager said that guest services was not part of the hotel but rented out as was the shop which was doing no business at all. This hotel could be great but it needs senior managers to engage with the obvious issues like the water logging at the pool area, WiFi breakdowns, a breakfast served on polystyrene plates and with poor levels of hygiene, the poor guy putting out the trays of food was on his own and was putting food covers on the floor, then on food.

Poor 2.0
Terrible booking experience
I booked two rooms, they canceled them the morning of our check in and I received an email saying my card was declined. There was absolutely no reason for the card to be declined, and in fact the hold was still on my perfectly valid credit card. I called to speak to someone to verify our rooms were still reserved, as my sister and I were driving our families separately 9 hours and would be checking in late, at different times, and I wanted to also make them aware. The person on the phone was rude, but advised me she would reconfirm our reservation via the credit card. ( She seemed more concerned about preaching to me how to use a credit card to book a hotel) My sister arrived first to only one room, and a full hotel. She is left having to check in to this hotel, with terrible customer service, or have her card charged anyway, and then find other accommodations for me and my family so I'll have a place to stay when I arrive in Orlando at 2am. All the while there is still a hold on the card for the 2 room reservation and now a new one for the single room. I don't know if it was or not that caused the cancellation, but the way the hotel handled it was terrible. I stayed a few miles away at a Super 8, thankful it was only a one night stay for her at the Baymont.

Poor 2.0
will never stay here agin
the location was good, hotel wasn't all what I expected.... when I arrived in the room it smelled, the bathroom wasn't clean it still has hair from another guest that was in the room (previously) and the carpet and furniture was old. the bed was some what ok to sleep in. Also the shuttle service was HORRIBLE!!!! never came on time for seaworld we waitedand missed that time of being in the park, they end up accomidating us with a Taxi. I also left my photos on the desk in the room and I called back to check if they were there and they had thrown them out. the photos was memories for my son keepsakes and I pad a lot of money for them to just be thrown away. when I called they was so nonchalant about the housekeeping throwing them out. very unsatisfied I would recommend this hotel at all. I also heard other people complaning while checking in for there reservation that the front desk clerk could not seem to find. Pool stayed open till 11pm. that was the perk that the kids got to do. they had computers which helped with buying your park tickets and the front desk clerks will print them and they had ppl in there selling tickets to the park that was cheap but you had to do a early in the morning timeshare for 2 hours and then you can get the tickets and you also had to leave a deposit with them. THIS HOTEL NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED!!!!!!!!

Exceptional 10.0
Best Vacation Ever!
Our trip was Awesome!! Favorite restaurant Cow? just as before you enter the parks. Sushi and Burger place. Hotel Baymont, friendly accomodating staff, nice rooms for the price. Hidden fees. Shuttle, continental breakfast, and Wi-Fi are not free as stated. There is a 'Mandatory' fee of $10 per day for these services whether you use them or not. The Universal parks were incredible! Only 3 team members that were unfriendly. I was so impressed with everyone's attitude. Such kindness and willingness to be of help. 2 team members that really deserve me recognition is Baley who despite the pressure and stress of having to deal with aggressive, aggrivated fans remained so kind and polite in the autograph organization lines. Stephanie at one of the customer relations booth in the Islands of Adventure Park was extremely nice and helpful despite having to experience all the complaints from people like myself who didn't understand the package we bought and unfortunately came with a negative attitude toward her. Suggestion for autograph session: Have 1. Start earlier, 2. Have 2 artist from the Hollywood stage & 1 artist from main stage set up as | _ | with one line for all 3 walking in a circle to each table. That way everyone will get to meet every artist. Also it saves on time. It can be done based on the time the artists are expected to perform. Maybe change the session time to a.m. The hotel tried to accommodate my parking for disability with a cone but another guest kept moving it.
