Hôtel Aida Opéra, Paris
Our new home away from home
We have stayed here before and will always do so when in Paris. Staff are really friendly and helpful, rooms are big enough with really nice soft pillows. We love this neighborhood, as it has lots of character and many places to eat and shop. Location is good, as it is not too far from 3 metro lines, so you can easily get around the city. The only small problem we had was that we we were on the 5th floor in a corner room and the wifi wasn't always great in there.

Terrible service and dirty
We arrived at this hotel close to 1am Paris time. The gentlemen that checked us in seemed nice and helpful. However, he informed us incorrectly about breakfast being included and we did not find this out until check out when they stated we owed them for it. I was very unhappy and expressed it to the lady. She stated it wasn’t her problem and we needed to pay. I told her I wanted to talk to a manager about the situation and she refused. When I told her we went down for breakfast but no one in the family wanted to eat because it looked so unappealing, she refused to accept it and stated because we checked in for breakfast we must pay. I refused to pay her for a service we didn’t actually use and she charged my credit card anyway. They were also doing a lot of remodeling in the building. The lifts were not available so we had to take luggage up and down 2 flights of stairs with no assistance. The remodeling was also being done in the stairway so we had to try to manage ourselves and our luggage around scaffolding and equipment. It was extremely dusty and gross. I also asked for an extra blanket for our youngest child, 8. And the employee stated they did not have any extra blankets to offer. I have traveled a lot in various countries and I’ve been to Paris 3x in the last 2 years. I have never encountered such a rude and unhelpful group of staff. Aside for the convenient location, this hotel isn’t worth the service for the insane amount we paid them, including fees over $400.

Very Accommodating, Great Service
It was great, I was transferred by to Hotel Aida from another horrible hotel that cancelled when I showed up to check in, and Hotel Aida was wonderful with accommodation. There was construction going on, but hopefully all will be nice when it's complete.

A nice place to stay
This is an older hotel that is being upgraded somewhat. My room was "worn" to be nice about it. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful. They have a nice breakfast and snacks are provided (free) in the afternoon. The location was actually pretty good. Plenty to see within walking distance. Subways are not too far of a walk to get you in the center of Paris for the major attractions or to transfer to a train to see things further out. It was a hike but I walked back to the hotel from Pont Neuf (40 min). There is a movie theater a few blocks away. A few small grocery stores and tobacco shops. There is even a post office less than 5 minute walk (to buy stamps, mail post cards). It wasn't luxury but it was a nice place to stay while in Paris

Remodel/construction was obvious. Some of the furniture was old and broken. Chairs were dirty. Stayed at better hotels for the same price in Paris before. Not bad if you need to find a quick stay as soon as possible.
