I wanted to talk to the manager before leaving as I did not think it was fair to pay a regular rate for the room when I did not receive the service I expected. He was unavailable, on location somewhere. I have to follow up now that we are finally home.

Nice stay
This the 3rd time we stayed at this hotel. My reservation was homered and the service was really good. There was just one incident where the housekeeping manager I think a guy opened the door. I think he was checking to see if we had already checked out so he can clean the room. Our housekeeper was wonderful African American lady. Although the hotel could use some new paint and the hallway door windows should be cleaned, This hotel is always clean. It is nice for a weekend get away with the pool and Denny's on premises

One night stay, convenient to Ft. Stanwix. Booked via mobile app on spur of the moment. Easy check in

Unpleasant and Smelly
Ugh. If we weren't so tired and it wasn't so late we would have demanded a refund and left. Rooms smell of mustiness and stale smoke--even though we got non-smoking rooms. One of our doors was broken. Bathroom was not filthy but not so clean either. Area feels rundown, not entirely unsafe but not comfortable. We paid twice what these rooms are worth. Very unsatisfactory.

Meh
Friendly and nice front desk staff but the manager has a total attitude. Warning: don't walk around barefoot in your room. If you walk around barefoot in your room for 10 minutes, the bottoms of your feet will be black and gross. I had to spread towels on the floor of the walking areas because I forgot to pack slippers. The beds sink in the middle so if two people sleep on the bed you will flop into the dent like that I Love Lucy episode. The bar of complimentary soap was opened so I suspect they re-use the soaps. The cleaning lady was so sweet, though. She had a shopping cart as opposed to a hotel cart like normal hotels have -___- really, manager? How cheap. Also, they dont appear to clean under the beds, when I checked under my bed to find something I dropped there were 2 water bottles there. Other than that, the hotel was ok for 2 nights. But not that I know there is a new Hampton Inn and Wingate at the base, i'll try one of those out next time.
