About The Sukhothai Bangkok, Bangkok

Luxury 5-star hotel in Sukhumvit Road neighborhood

Neighborhood charm
Reflecting the architectural details of its ancient namesake, The Sukhothai Bangkok is a bastion of world-class service and luxury in the city's Sukhumvit Road neighborhood. A stay at this world-class hotel puts you in the central business and embassy district of Bangkok.

Steps to nature
Lumphini Park, the expansive heart of the city, draws locals and guests for everything. There, you can rent a boat to drift around the park's lake, or bicycles to explore the tree-lined paths. If silk fascinates you, the Jim Thompson House is about 7 km.

Stupas and relaxing spa
Guests love The Sukhothai Bangkok for its tranquil, lotus-filled pools in quiet courtyards and the world-class spa for relaxing massages. Beautifully landscaped gardens and poolside cabanas give the hotel a resort-like tropical feel. The newly-renovated pool opens September 12, 2017 and will be open daily from 6:30 AM to 8 PM. The 5 dining options serve everything from elegant Thai cuisine to coffee and cocktails.

The Sukhothai Bangkok, Bangkok
The amazing concierge, Ing, waited outside with me for a taxi, to chat and give me some tips on the Patpong Night market, and then instructed the driver in Thai about where I should go and be sure he charged me only the metered rate. He wrote the hotel name in Thai on a brochure so the return driver could get me back to the hotel. The service is astonishing, the hotel is serenely beautiful, an oasis in the bustling skyscrapers of Bangkok. The newly renovated pool is saltwater, refreshingly warm and comfortable for either a leisurely or strenuous swim. Lovely!!

Very Good8.0
A 4* hotel, not a 5*
Sukhothai was a good hotel, but not exceptional at $463 USD per night. We'd rate it 4*, not 5*. We had just come from Akyra Manor in Chiang Mai at $305 USD per night, and this hotel is OUTSTANDING with regards to room & amenities! Sukhothai did present us with welcoming treats of fruit & truffles. The breakfast was amply stocked with breads, cereal, cheeses, meats, salads, & a "cook to order" egg station. The room size was average overlooking an inner courtyard. A plug-in mosquito repellent was laying on the floor when we arrived in our room. Very slow check-in, though thorough. Extremely slow taxi service. 1 guest told me he waited 1 hour for a cab! Convenient to Embassy Row.

Wish we booked it again for our return layover!
A quick one night stay between flights and wish we had booked it for our return for 3 more nights! We love boutique hotels and everything about The Sukhothai was more than excellent.

One night stay for a family wedding
My cousin was getting married at the hotel so for convenience, I stayed there for the night. It was convenient for the wedding, the room was comfortable with lots of amenities but charging me $13 to iron my dress feels kind of steep (I stayed at the Millenium Hotel and Renaissance for my other nights of the trip and an iron and board were provided in the room free of charge).

The Sukhothai Bangkok, Bangkok
I was disappointed in the hotel given excellent reviews by other travelers across all sites. Expected a lot more. The room had a musty/mildew smell to it - not surprising given how hot and wet Bangkok can get. Carpeting is a stupid idea in places like that. Carpet in the hallway looked beyond disgusting.
