Mixed feelings
I was traveling with two young toddlers to Hershey. I was surprised that the rooms face the outside and are located above the lobby. This did give me pause for their safety but I had the top lock on and had no issues. The room looks like they have recently renovated. The room was comfortable and clean especially at the end of the day ...sheets were changed and our kids teddy bears were neatly placed next to their folded comforters (brought from home). My only complaints is that there was a vomit/funkiness smell during our first night. I noticed there is a drainage pond nearby and it was full that night. The next day the smell was gone and the pond was dry (?). Next, I would have like to see cable and only channels were basic 3, 6, 10 , and PBS 12, 29, and a couple more but not Nick JR, Bravo, Discovery. Finally, the walls could use insulating. I spent the night listening to the adjacent room on their cell phone and loud TV. I couldn't hear it until we turned our tv off and trying to get the kids asleep which was difficult. If not for these hiccups- I would give them my highest reviews.

A perfectly fine stay
The rooms were clean and updated. Housekeeping called soon after my check-in to see if I needed anything. The beds were comfortable. Everyone was very pleasant. As mentioned in other reviews, you could hear people slamming their door to their rooms and there were kids running up and down the walkway outside my room. Also, heard a lot of sirens being close to the hospital. So there was a little bit of a noise factor. But I don’t think there’s really anything management could do about that. It is an older, updated hotel. If I have to return to Hershey, I would choose this hotel again.

Don't judge a book by its cover.
Outside of building and stairwells appear run down, but that's not the case at all inside. Staff is helpful and friendly, they greeted me every time I went past the front desk. Rooms are very clean and modern. Breakfast is a typical selection (pastries, cereal, waffles, fruit, yogurt). My only warnings are: 1.) the water tastes funky, so I wouldn't suggest to drink it; and 2.) the heat/air units in the rooms are very loud when they are running so they may keep you up (if you're a light sleeper).
