barely worth it
The hotel has very little to offer other than its central location. Old building, ok-ish service, very few amenities (no fridge, safe etc in room). Very basic

The Worst ...Stay away
The staff wouldn't let us in the hotel in the middle of the night. They said only one of us could stay there when we had checked in together just a few hours prior. Then they said they were going to call the police if one of us did not leave. They wouldn't even let us pay for another person. By far the worst and most unprofessional staff I have ever dealt with. Do not stay here.

Convenient But Not Without Problems
I booked a room at this hotel because of its central location. I was happy that there were plenty of shops and restaurants right outside, on Piccadily Square. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and they even printed several documents for me that I needed for my meeting. The problem was really with the room: The walls were, apparently paper-thin, as I could hear all the noise in the hallway outside my door. From the opposite side of the room, where the window was, I could hear the massive groaning of some mechanical system that was in the court outside the window. There was no outlet available to plug in my laptop (I had to remove the telephone from its outlet). The bed was comfortable, but the bed sheets and pillowcases had such a strong odor of perfumed laundry detergent that it was difficult to fall asleep initially. The bathroom facilities had been modernized, so they were perfectly fine. However, The bath/shower combination had one of those ridiculous half doors. I found out after my shower that there was no rubber strip along the bottom of that door, so in the course of the shower water had flooded onto the bathroom floor. The bathroom door wouldn't stay open (nor was there a hook), so there was no possibility to air out the bathroom after the shower - or to get some other air into the room. The closet doors wouldn't close properly. This hotel served me fine for one night, but I wouldn't want to stay much longer. I probably won't book there again.

Good/cheap
cheap, in the center of town, but friendly and good enough. Easy to miss on your way by because it's in a tiny hole in the wall, but it's convenient and only 5 minute walk from Picadilly.

Good location, but no a/c in the room and the windows would not open.
