Prince George Hotel, Halifax
Very Good
Nice Hotel, Great Bed, Fast Wi-Fi, Only downside was room service in the morning, French Toast was dry, even when drowned in syrup, and the 'home' fries which are supposed to be small square baked pieces of potatoes, were just regular french fries, like what the heck...even McDonald's doesn't sell french fries with breakfast, no one wants that s*it. so stay here for sure, but skip the room service, not worth the money at all. $50 for dry french toast and french fries...like c'mon man, step that room service quality up.

Very Good
Nice hotel area, close to CBD/ construction.
Been before, very friendly service, toilet broken but they fixed it, pillows were uncomfortable, ok value. Front office and bar service was stellar.

Miscommunication: Stay Less than "Princely"
My wife and I stayed at the Prince George mid August 2017. Our stay was mixed. On our check in we were advised we were being upgraded to a suite (we had not requested an upgrade). The suite was wonderful--two rooms, a huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub, etc. After sightseeing most of the day, we returned to the hotel and discovered we could not re-enter our room with either "key". We went to the front desk and were then informed that the upgrade had just been for one night but we had not been informed of that at our check in. We were rather shocked but were told "there was nothing that could be done about it." We were not even offered to have the room to which the hotel had moved our things (without our knowledge) free of charge for the inconvenience; I had to suggest it. A week after we returned home and our credit card statement still showed charges for three nights lodging, I had to call the hotel. The hotel thereafter did give us a credit for one night's lodging. Leaving that aside, the hotel is fairly centrally located to the shops and restaurants in the downtown area, although it is a fairly steep climb from the waterfront itself. The hotel is very close to the Citadel and the Public Gardens. The "standard" room was by comparison a bit disappointing but it was clean and quiet.

Exceptional
Great Location and Service
Perfect location for walking everywhere we wanted to go. Helpful service in getting transportation from the airport at 1am. Convenient having an Avis car rental office so close.

Good
Great location but disappointed with upkeep
For the money, we were disappointed at the quality of the room. The baseboard (which was carpet) was falling off the wall just under the window for the entire length of the room - looks like they had pulled it off to run some cables and it didn't get secured again. Furniture was worn (although the beds were super comfy!); there were scuffs on the doors and walls; and the tub needed to be recaulked. Other than having wine and water available in the room (for a charge), there was really nothing special about the accommodations. That said, the staff was incredibly friendly and the location was fantastic - right across from the citadel and walkable to everything downtown!
