Enjoyed my stay!!!
I was disappointed with check in. I was scheduled for 3:00 pm check-in, but there was no room available until 4:15pm. Valet parking was $55 and the service was extremely poor as I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for my car after calling for it 30 minutes in advance.

Great 4th of July Hotel Stay
Decided to stay here for 4th of July. Since it was raining, I wanted some place close so I can walk out with the umbrella to watch the fireworks. It worked out perfectly. PROS: Beautiful room with amazing shower and great king sized bed. Check in was a breeze and they were even giving out champagne for guests. CONS: If I had to be picky, you have to pay for upgraded WiFi and the snacks are outrageously priced. I ended up going to CVS close by instead of paying the prices. But I did not concern myself too much about it. OVERALL: Phenomenal stay and will stay again.

Best check in service
I had a problem, because when I arrived they did not have any reservation. I had to call hotels.com and they took around 1 hours to fix it. The Hotel was great because they give me a room without any charge until they fix with hotels.com. Best check in and hotel service!

Landmark hotel gone bad
Extremely disappointed by our stay. It was our last two days in DC - our home for over a decade - and we thought we'd stay where we had rooftop drinks on our first date...epic disappointment. We encountered rude service and a hotel that smelled and looked like a dodgy but cool dance club. 1. We asked the 2 doormen who looked like & acted like nightclub bouncers for help or to borrow a cart to bring our bags in. After pointing to the apt we had stayed at the was a short 2 blocks away, they said get a cab. 2: Room had a neat modern vibe but the design and layout was cheap and not all that functional. The furniture was cheap & served little function. 3. Maybe we are just too old for this place (mid-30s), but even in the morning they have dance music playing and the lobby smells like a mix of disinfectants and vomit. We could have stayed at the Hay Adams for about the same price point - an absolutely lovely place that you never want to leave - so my bad for putting a higher priority on nostalgia than quality. Go to the W's rooftop bar for drinks, but you can stay at a hotel that is even half of its price in downtown DC & have a better stay. You can put the money you saved toward buying some tasty cocktails.
