The very small room was newly re-finished (floors, paint, furniture) which was nice, the TV size was adequate but the cable had issues which required unplugging and replugging the TV - plus the movies were $25! Staff was friendly, there was an ice machine, and soda machine the the option to do laundry for a small fee. There was a coffee maker, hair dryer and mini-fridge which was nice with a water pitcher to fill from the water machine. The bathroom light had issues which the front desk addressed immediately. There was no fan in bathroom which meant needing to crack open the window to air out. The room seemed clean but there were a few 'hairs' (of the private type) in the bathroom and a brown hair on the white towels - none of which were mine. Overall the safety and location of this property was ideal and the next door pub was fun and open late. Ok for a night - not ideal for longer stays.

Poor 2.0
Would not recommend to anyone. Don’t waste money
Check in was slow as only one person at counter. She was friendly though. Room and hotel is seriously outdated. Room wallpaper is feeling significantly off walls, heat in room did not work, lights in bathroom flickered for an extended period if time before it stayed on. Electrical outlet in wall was sideways. Though the room was clean, it was in a sad state with dirty scuffed baseboards old tub with chips in it. I complained that it was freezing in my room and asked for extra blankets. 20 minutes later the clerk came in with two more blankets, one of which had tears and cuts in it. I showed her the lights and wallpaper and that no heat was coming out of the unit. She apologized and said she would let management know. She did offer to move me to another room but it was 10:30 at night and I had unpacked already etc. The rugs in the hallways are a health hazard and are ripples everywhere around elevator on floor.. was seriously disappointed that I spent $125 here and it’s obvious that the Holiday Inn is in a sad state of disrepair.

Fair 4.0
Lets be honest here. We checked in and was met - not greeted - by one Richard who in no uncertain terms informed us that $50 is being held form my credit card in case of damage to hotel property and a further $250 will be taken in case we smoke in the non smoking room. So we are tired and check into room 407 only to see that the towel bar is loose and held together by screws, the toilet seat is loose as is the faucet in the sink and then the toilet paper holder is loose also. i was forced to call the credit card company and freeze the card just in case the hotel charged me for something I didn't do. The next day I approached the front desk and spoke with the supervisor and thankfully she was a gem and took care of the situation. I'm not sure I would stay at another Days Inn considering what happened. We have a trip planned next week to Birmingham UK and have reserved a room with our favourite -- Accor/Ibis - they never let us down and can never do enough for us. Sorry Days Inn

Very Good 8.0
Great staff, room was clean and did the job for comfort. The building is old and rooms are old, it was like going back in time. It definitely needs a renovation and I was told they will be starting a new renovation in the coming weeks. It is a great location and I would stay here again if I had to, every other hotel in the area was just about double the price. The most important thing to me was the cleanliness of the room and washroom and I can't complain there, hardwood floors instead of carpets was a plus for me also. If you can't stand old colorful hallways and slow elevators then this may not be the place for you but all I needed was a clean room to sleep in, this hotel did the job!

a good value with delicious cooked breakfast
my dad traveled a lot for work and this is what he would call a 'clean fleabag'. Note - no fleas or bedbugs. The hotel is older: the rooms are smallish. But the bed was super comfy and the free cooked breakfast was delish! Housekeeping was wonky - they straightened my room the first day, but didn't replace the coffee or creamer packets or the shampoo I used (good thing I brought some of my own as I noticed in the shower!). So for the money, it was a good value.
