Convenient downtown location
Room was nice, though a bit cramped. Plusses - Comfortable mattress, located very close to the downtown area. Negatives - Pedestal sink in bath leaves little room for storing toiletries, though there is a shelf over the toilet. Water pressure in shower was weak. Fitness room in separate building was small with TV's that didn't work. Parking in area is difficult, so valet is a necessity unless you get lucky and find one of the few overnight spaces on the street available. (If you are visiting to explore the Annapolis downtown, you really don't need a car if you don't mind walking a bit).

Quality needs to reflect historic significance
At 11:56 p.m. when was about to turn in. a mouse scurried along the baseboard and under the bed. The television didn’t work. A 250-year old Annapolis building and an icon of Maryland history, next to the nation’s oldest original State House, that witnessed Washington’s resignation as CinC, celebration of the Treaty of Paris ending the Revolutionary War, and the call for a Constitutional Convention. Its quality as a hotel needs to match its historic significance. No doubt a challenge—but necessary.

Not worth the cost
Access to local restaurants and sites was great. The room was beautiful and well appointed but I received no housekeeping service during my three day stay. I did report this with no follow up. The room was also very noisy - can hear every little thing in the halls and neighboring rooms including someone playing guitar in the middle of the night my first night!

A gem of a hotel.
If I can't get a room here when I come to town for work, I'm literally sad. Ms. Peg, the innkeeper is a completely wonderful person, she takes such good care of all of the guests, and you can't beat the location.
