State Plaza Hotel, Washington
Washington DC Tourists
The location was great for walking to all the Monuments, uptown, the White House, and Smithsonian Museums. We also walked to Arlington Cemetery. Granted it was long walks, but it was doable for us. The only negative was the lack of restaurants in the area. We found 3 nearby. However, the kitchenette worked out great once we got to Whole Foods which is only about 2 blocks away.

Handicap access was not available through front or rear door. Needed to use an entrance in an alley. Really close to the National Mall. Not many food options very close to the hotel, you will need to walk some. For my first trip to D.C. I was happy with the hotel.

I've stayed here twice and will stay again.
The spacious room and kitchenette are the selling points for me. The neighborhood is a little dull but there's convenient access to the metro. I was not happy to find a Bible in my room--it's insulting to assume that I'm a Christian, or that if not, I should be. Other downsides--the confusing double entry/two address arrangement.
