Wonderful, but some upgrades would be nice.
The history of the hotel was phenomenal! A few upgrades would be nice, such as a coffee pot, micro, etc. Also, would have loved to have been able to control the temperature in the room because the heat was on too high, making it difficult to sleep the second night. The very incredibly friendly German barrista in the coffee shop was a true delight!! We loved the lobby and grounds!!!! We enjoyed the restaurant, as well!!

Great experience except for coffee shop
We really enjoyed our stay. It was easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and most importantly the hot springs pool. Cherryl was our server in the restaurant and she was very friendly and efficient. My 2 year old loved the teddy bear that he got when we checked into the hotel and the organs in the lobby. The court yard and lobby were very elegant and relaxing to hang out in. My husband got a massage in the bigger spa on the lower level of the hotel and really enjoyed it. The only negative experience we had was, after we checked in to the hotel on 5-23-15, we went to the coffee shop at 3:40 pm to get a drink. The lady in there was very irritated that we came in and reluctantly made my husband a coffee but refused to make me a chai tea and my 2 year old a smoothie. I told her that she didn't close for 20 more minutes and she irritatingly said "yes, but I need to clean" so we went somewhere else. I've managed and worked in several customer service jobs, and even some in coffee shops and restaurants and you always serve every customer fully as long as they come in before or at your the close time and the THEN do the cleaning. Her behavior and attitude was completely unacceptable. I would highly recommend that the Hotel Colorado let her go and hire someone who wants the job.

Unique Historical Hotel Stay
Our roomed bordered the Teddy Roosevelt Suite. It was comfortable with a window that opened to allow a pleasant breeze through out the night. I did overhear a seance going on in the Roosevelt Suite one morning.Interesting! The common areas are large and enjoyable. Pianos were played and a cozy fire burned in the main lobby. The veranda had an charming old world feel where you could get a drink and enjoy the garden. I appreciated the efficient barista. She juggled the long line of morning coffee drinkers remarkably well.
