Terrible
The place is run down and a real let down for the location. With Saturday night charge of nearly £100 for a room that during the week is lucky to be £60. It shows there is only interest in making money reom one time visitors. The desk staff were less than impressed to be working, and the door key system does not work properly. The room itself had peeling wall paper, no main room light (just 2 lamps) and smelt terrible regardless of leaving the window open the entire time. Even the linen on the bed was falling apart, just so dirty and rundown :(

Very central - would stay again despite negatives
Loved the building. The public areas really lovely and well maintained. The room was spacious and had everything you need. The downs - steps right in front of the door inside the room. - policy of not coming in to clean the room while you're staying is not great if you're staying 3 nights - especially when no toilet brush provided for example... - if you want to change your towels, you have to go to reception and ask and they are handed to you at reception - not great when your room is at the back of the hotel....also not great when you subsequently realise that you've been given 6 hand towels by reception....

Location good
Stayed here for football match, one night. Room was ok, very basic and not very appealing. Was very loud throughout the night due to location which we expected. We booked here for location to Lime Street station 2 min walk away. We didn't include breakfast but we chose to pay for it and they had a great selection of hot and cold food. Restaurant manager could do with putting a smile on his face! Was not friendly and seemed to be irritated that customers were there!

10 AM check out might be unique? I certainly haven't seen that before anywhere, seems a poor idea to me frankly- it takes away one of the real pleasures of a hotel stay- the lie in! Also, shower curtins were not pleasant back in the 1980s when they were quite common, theyre even less pleasant now.
