The Lodge at Santa Fe, Santa Fe
Unfortunately disappointed
When I went to check in I was charged a $15 fee for incidentals like water, snack bars, and Keurig coffee cups in the room. This was not optional. There were no complimentary items at this hotel. You did receive a 15% discount on breakfast with their heritage pamphlet that they give you a check in. It also gave us a 15% discount at one of the venues that we visited in Santa Fe which saved us a few dollars. While the furnishings were nice they were not quite as nice as what was shown in the pictures on the web page. The knobs in the shower were loose and a little difficult to operate. The hotel itself was older and showed signs of wear and tear. This is my first somewhat negative review. I would not stay here again.

Don't stay here! Extra charges
Although the hotels booking page says that the Lodge at Santa Fe has free wifi and a free shuttle, the property charges a $16 mandatory resort fee. When I asked why the hotel charged me an additional $16, the front desk person said it was the fee for the wifi, shuttle, and pool. I told him that I never used the shuttle to the Plaza or the pool--it was 30F outside with snow on the ground! He said it was mandatory. That's ridiculous. There should be NO resort fee during the winter. I never saw anyone in the outdoor pool. There shouldn't be a charge for wifi. There's no traffic in Santa Fe during the winter so a shuttle to the Plaza isn't needed. I also was surprised that the hotel didn't have heat in the hallways--I had to put on a coat in the hallways. Also, needs to post the $16 fee in large font at the top of this hotel's page so other customers know that they are being charged extra.

This is our second time to stay there. We love it. Having a shuttle to go to the plaza was a nice extra.

The hotel was pretty. The girl at the front desk was super nice and fast only took a couple of minutes to check in. Cozy fire place in the front. The room was nice but we could hear everything! The people in the same hall as us would slam the door every couple of minutes and yell and talk loud all night and early in the morning we couldn't even sleep in! We also were disappointed that there wasn't anything in the room to tell us about the restaurant or bar in the hotel. Also the vending machines didn't take cash just a card which kind of sucked.
