Nice enough but not great
I should have done a better review of this hotel prior to booking. Read the reviews so you know exactly what you are getting! Overall - the hotel is dated and not what we were expecting. We arrived at the Dorian Inn late at night, after the restaurant in the hotel was closed. The hotel is nice enough, but not in a good area of town. Upon check-in, the worker was very helpful. The elevators in the hotel are very small. It was barely big enough to hold me, my husband, and our 4 suitcases! The room was small, it was tight to walk around from one side of the bed to the other. The website says the room has air conditioning, but it was two large vents on the top of the wall that had a knob to turn with three different fan settings - nothing to adjust temperature. Our room was very warm and never cooled down, which made it pretty miserable for us. The only good thing was that the window opened, so we were able to open that at night for a breeze - but of course then we were subjected to the noises on the street and throughout the night. The bathroom was definitely dated and only had a hand shower, which did not include a holder for it. Towels were provided, but no wash cloths. The door stop for the bathroom didn't allow the door to open fully. We did go to the 12th floor to check out the pool and the view, which were both very nice! We did order room service, and the worker who brought it to us was great! The food was good, but my husband did not like the pizza.

Fair 4.0
The area this property is in is quite run down and feels dangerous to walk through in the evenings. It’s not too far from the metro station so that was an upside, and the view from the roof of the acropolis is really nice. But seeing all the run down surrounding in between you and the acropolis lessens the feeling. Meanwhile the hotel was a disappointment in itself. Checking in was an issue at first, we had two rooms under one booking but when we got to the hotel they told us we had made two seperate bookings so both rooms were on completely different floors. This delayed us trying to sort that out, and then The room was nothing like any of the images online once we had actually checked in. We had no headboard and there were actually bolts sticking out where I suppose the headboard should have been attached. One side of the bed was missing about 3 or 4 slays all together so when you got on the bed you pretty much were going straight through the hole. The air conditioning is shared amongst various rooms, so whilst turning it all the way up cooled the room down during the day when I suppose most people were out sightseeing, during the evening/night when you wanted it to cool down to sleep most people must have had the same idea because it barely made a difference to the temperature of the room. The storage was extremely minimal so I lived out of my suitcase for the week. And hanging stuff up in the small cupboard meant the cupboard wouldn’t close and the light would stay on.

Poor 2.0
It definitely was less than 3 star accommodation. Rooms did not look anything like the rooms advertised on the website. Upon arriving, the lady at the front desk warned us about our safety at this hotel and it’s surrounding streets. We were told that we should only walk down main roads and not at night (this sent off alarm bells in our heads!) We were told that it is part of the Red Light District of Athens. At some stage from getting out of the taxi to the entrance of the hotel, I had coloured liquid thrown on my back. The room smelt rotten, looked dirty, and there was extreme noise from the road. The bed linen had stains and the carpet was stained and raised. We decided that this was definitely not a place we could consider staying at. Our safety and health would be compromised. Checked out immediately.

Exceptional 10.0
My husband and I were so happy with our choice of Dorian Inn Hotel. Positive + The room: Our room was beautiful and very clean! The beds were comfortable (two twins pushed together to make a full) and very spacious, clean bathroom. Everything in the room was very modern, and our room came with a mini refrigerator, tv, and safe. Lots of lighting in the room. Breakfast: The breakfast was incredible. Fresh food from the kitchen such as eggs, French fries, onion rings, mini sausages, eggs sunny side up, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, cheese, sandwich meat and salami, bread to slice, fruit, Greek yogurt, cereal, butter, variety of jam flavors, and for drinks they had espresso machine, juices, hot chocolate, water. Roof access + restaurant: The view from the rooftop is unbeatable, especially at night with everything lit up. There is a restaurant on the roof so they do not allow you to bring your own food, which could be a bummer if you were looking to bring your own meal up there aside from purchasing on from the restaurant. We found that the restaurant prices were about double from the other little shops around the city, so we never dined in. Computer room: there was a computer room where we were able to print our boarding passes, with no extra charge. Negative - Noise: Our room had very thin walls and windows. We could hear the busy street and traffic through the night and one night could hear the people in the room next to us. Room service: Sometimes just walked in.

Location...
Nice 3 star hotel - spent three days there. I wish it was in a better Athens location. Scary area, especially at night. That is by far the biggest problem/concern. Outdated AC controls don’t allow you to change temperature, only fan velocity, speed 0-4, so you are at hotel’s mercy temperature-wise. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast buffet and table service was excellent. Front desk staff was attentive and a pleasure to deal with.
