Great staff, helpful. Hotel is a safe gem on the outskirts of a seedy area, but great proximity, safe walk to the opera, Bill Graham.. would surely stay again. Excellent breakfast quality with delightful, personable attendant that made our mornings very pleasant. Rooms well supplied with mini fridge, microwave.. even china and bottle openers. Quick uber ride in proximity to anywhere you'd like to go in the city; very happy with our stay!

Good value for the price you pay
Small corridors and rooms, but good service. Decent breakfast. I definitely recommend staying here if you are on a budget but want to stay close to major city attractions.

Terrible service.
Terrible. After being promised they had valet available for us after the Giants game, they did not when we got back. And told us to park somewhere on the street. One. There was no where to park. Two. A bunch of homeless people were walking around like crazy and I did not want to leave my car. They were so rude. We ended up leaving that night at 11 at night and drove all the way home, 9 hours to Oregon. I lost my money. But it was worth not stayin.

Never again
Room very small. About 10' x 10' a bed and night stands. The so-called desk was one little shelf. the bathroom was the best part of the room. The mini fridge not cold spent $50 on groceries the next morning had to throw out dairy. The main light was snapping crackling flashing popping couldn't use it notified them they said maintenance was gone & they would look for a lightbulb come back and change it. Waited 40 minutes they never came back never notified me that they found a lightbulb or not that was pretty rude. The concierge was friendly day of checked in, after that never acknowledge me and didn't look at me again and never made eye contact. Unless you're wearing a top notch outfits , fur coats or suits they don't treat you like you belong there. And I'm not really sure why because the room was not nice the walls were damaged the base trim was damaged it was painted over and over and over you could see how thick the paint was the carpet was old and disgusting and the view was nothing but the alley. Like my friend tells me you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. Two doors down is a homeless shelter two blocks away in the park full of druggies clearly actively doing drug deals and doing drugs right there it's scary I don't understand how people spend so much money to be an area and they can't even walk two blocks away. I will not stay there again.
