Stay here if you like staying in the Tenderloin
Parking is nill and very expensive. $49 a day for valet... the area is not very safe and dirty. I would not stay here again.

Don't stay here
The positive is that the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the local art is a nice touch, and the pastries are delicious. But that's the only positive. The rest of the hotel is not at all what we thought we were booking, partly due to being misled by the fine print (NOTE THE RESORT FEE WHICH MAKES THIS PLACE WAY OVERPRICED), the photoshopped photos (THE ROOMS DON'T LOOK LIKE THE PHOTOS AT ALL), and partly due to not knowing (as a tourist) that Union Square is highly transient and very gritty. Bottom line: you'll pay way too much for a hotel in an old building in Skid Row. But the hotel tries, and if you can look past the transients and the ripoff price, it's a comfortable stay.

Website very deceiving!
The website for this hotel is completely deceiving. This place is a dump, and it's in one of the worst neighborhoods in SF. When we told friends where we were staying they looked shocked, saying that that street is only known for prostitution and drug dealing. There is a soup kitchen next door, bums sleeping/passed out on the sidewalk, needles, human feces - you get the idea - we did not feel safe walking around, and we are from NYC! The hotel itself is dingy and small, and offers almost no amenities (the "gym" is a bike and a set of weights, nothing in the room besides the essentials, shampoo, soap etc). There was no lights in the closet, the rooms are tiny and do not look AT ALL like the pics on the website (bright and airy). I guess the price is right, but otherwise spare yourself the experience.

Beware of the Tilde hotel valet parking :(
Nothing amazing about it. I will never trust this hotel valet parking. Wnen I got my car back it had bird drippings all over it. They were supposed to have parked my car in a garage and instead it was parked outside on the street my passenger mirror was pushed in and I was charged $49 for valet parking. Not happy at all. So if anyone is staying at this hotel and use valet parking make sure you asked please take car of my car.
