    Nice but showing its age
Its nice enough and I would stay there again but some parts of the hotel are looking aged. We had one of the "premium" remodeled rooms so our room was not bad but the halls and common areas are starting to look tired. I like the location, its at the quieter south end of the strip, and is an easy walk to mandalay and excalibur without going outside. My main complain is the lack of refrigerators in the room.

    Long wait time.. no comps
For our wedding we stayed here. We waited about 3 hours to check in because of a system issue.. the next day we got an I'm sorry letter but no comps for anything.

    Lackluster stay at the Luxor
For the price, even with a supposed discount this hotel was sadly lacking and a huge disappointment. This was my first and probably my last time staying at the Luxor. Quite honestly, I've stayed at lower end chain hotels that were much nicer. We even paid for an"upgrade". If the room we stayed in was an upgrade, I'd hate to see the standard. The elevator going to our room was dirty and the veneer was peeling away from the control panel. The halls had spit on the walls that went uncleaned for several days. There were beer cans, bottles, cocktail and stemware glasses everywhere. Inside the room, the carpet had gum trampled into it. There was a sticky spot on the carpet that I kept stepping on heading to the bathroom. The amenities were at the bare minimum; only lotion, shampoo and soap. There were only four towels for two people. There wasn't any coffee, tea or bath robes; which have been in most every hotel I've ever stayed at. There was hardly ever a concierge at the front desk. We were on the 17th floor of the East tower with a view of the West tower and roof of the convention hall! The food and beverages and for that matter all the services were too expensive and mediocre at best. Not what I expected for my first visit to the world renowned Vegas Strip.
