Never Again - Refund Wanted
I have traveled the world for business and this made economy rooms in NYC look large... The bathroom was so small you couldn't sit on it...though I bet my 9-year-old could have come close. I could not even stand in shower without being engulfed by the shower curtain. There was no shower mat/towel for the floor and the aforementioned curtain was several inches too short so the floor (what little there was) got soaked. The closet door was literally a piece of plywood. No joke...if I didn't have a 4:30 a.m. wake up call, I would have been awake enough to take pictures and post them online. The rug tack strip where it meets the beautiful marble bathroom threshold (sad when a threshold is the most expensive and highlight of a high class hotel room) was completely exposed to the bare foot...tetanus anyone? Also a rude awakening at 1:00 a.m. as your first experience in bare feet in the dark. Last but not least, the best part of the main room...which in a reasonable house was better called a sewing room or a walk-in closet. Plywood wardrobe aside, it was reasonably clean to the eye. Since it was so small, only one very small single nightstand with a lamp and phone could fit. To charge my cell phone and and place there, I had to put the wired hotel phone on the floor. Please note, this was the LARGE nightstand! The other side of the bed has about a 6-inch piece of stone (possibly an upside down rejected threshold) nailed or glued to the plywood wardrobe.

Overpriced, but good location
The hotel is in a convenient location right across from the Arlington green line. The hotel has an awesome gym, but at an extra $17 per night, it better be awesome. The room was small and although it was just renovated, it had the old dirtiness to it. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Electrical plugs didn't fit any of my chargers, they should have updated those in the renovation. It was so loud outside my window in the middle of the night. I couldn't figured out what was going on, construction? Overall, I think I visited Boston at a bad time. This hotel was not worth over $500/night. I would have been more pleased with the hotel if it weren't for the high cost.

More Miami than Boston
The renovations are very nice. The rooms are shockingly small and I say this as someone who lives in NYC and is used to small spaces. Despite the size, room has the necessary amenities. The lobby bar seems to be a local party destination in the evenings, so it is louder and more active than you might expect. The daily $17 mandatory additional charge gives you access to a David Barton gym and wifi. It is a fair charge if you use these services. For people who don't, the charge might feel steep. $48 nightly parking is expensive. I overheard business people complaining about the size of the desks to do any work.

Very clean
Could not get Wifi working on my apple 6. Bar told me it was down for two days. Sprint LTE is good. Time to check out desk argued with me when I told him I would not pay the $15 dollar charge for the wifi or the workout room. I don't need the workout room but I want wifi! By the way they charge for it! Anyway he said it was working and wanted to know who it was that told me it wasn't working. I told him I know how to get wifi on my phone and I had there instructions and the code they assigned me! IT DID NOT WORK! He kept defending his position and being a Vietnam Veteran I was going to pay for it come he!! Or high water. Instead of being pleasant about it and giving me the credit which he was doing he put up a fuss the entire time... And he was the desk manager! Talk about. Customer satisfaction! Nada! Wasn't going to happen under his watch! He was a complete j?!@#! and all he got was an argument from me to stick where the sun don't shine ... In front of other guest checking out. He was a complete fool!

I stayed at this hotel before the remodeling and it was great to see it reinvented so well. Very much enjoyed my stay. Outstanding gym facilities.
