Location, location, location!
The reason to stay at this hotel is the location! It’s across the street from the subway, you can hop on and it’s a quick trip anywhere. It’s located next to Fenway and all the surrounding festivities, and if you are planning on going to a baseball game, you really cannot beat the location! The hotel staff was great, the rooms were clean, but the age of the hotel shows. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything in the room next to you and the plumbing is incredibly loud, makes it really hard to have a good nights sleep. However, I was there for a 3 game series to watch the Astros play the RedSox and the Texans play the Patriots in Foxboro and the location of the hotel is worth any slight discomfort. If I ever return to Boston, this is where I will stay.

It was just ok.
Something needs to be done about the a/c unit outside in the square closed in area between rooms. I do not think I slept at all, ALL night, due to the banging of the unit. Sounded like a steel drum every few minutes, all night long. Terrible!!! The bathroom had some areas that were not cleaned and there was no room to put anything. The one shelf is tilted forward and my things kept falling off. Bed was so-so.

Just do your research, don't expect much for the $
Went for a Red Sox game (vs. Yankees). First of all--just don't. The price was TWICE what it was the night before. I know this is normal, but go a little further away and stay at a nicer hotel for less money. My room was about as big as a jail cell, no fan in bathroom (I was left with the aftermusk of the previous occupant). Staff is great, no complaints, but unless you are looking to stay at a "historic" (meaning old and decrepit) hotel I suggest elsewhere. Also there was no Safe in the room as described. My view was absolutely to-die-for; I got to look straight at the inner square of the building while other people looked out there windows at me. Not cool.

Hotel was pricey for what you got. Room was just ok. The view was spectacular.
